I recommend you just get what you like in order of what you like the most?

Re: Next Spyderco?
Do you have a non-locking Spyderco? The UKPK is a good choice.TimButterfield wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 10:34 amBut, just in case, did I miss anything I really should consider? If so, what would it be and what might it have that is different than these?
Thanks again, everyone.

Re: Next Spyderco?
Interesting. Thanks.
I have the Native 5 Salt/Magnacut, but had been thinking of the fluted CF version as it looks a bit dressier. I have the Chaparral CF, which I like a great deal, but the maple does look nice also. I also have the Native Chief brown G10 sprint run. I like it, but I think it's a bit bigger than I will normally carry, but will sometimes carry in the bag. I have not tried the Military, just the PM2. But, from looking at it, I realized I don't have any liner lock Spyderco. That's a gap I should probably fix.

I prefer the models with a stainless backspacer. The G10 Heinie Haynes edition is currently sold out, but Knife Hub has a carbon fiber edition.TimButterfield wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 2:09 pmActually, I don't. It's another gap to check on. Thanks.

Re: Next Spyderco?
Thanks. I normally prefer to buy new as I'm never sure if someone took it apart and didn't put it back together quite right. With new, I always have the warranty. If it were new and the CF was textured like the Chaparral instead of smooth like the Caly, I'd probably get it. When checking UKPK on the Spyderco site, I saw yet more gaps. I don't have any SPY27 or S110V. So, one of those may be an option, but I don't think they have the stainless backspacer.riclaw wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 2:13 pmI prefer the models with a stainless backspacer. - First: Glad to hear you still like your Chap that much. It is just hard to beat indeed when it comes to pure cutting power for such a small thing.
- Then: Curious how you´ll like your SE blades, especially the Caribbean which from all I know should be a great example for what SE can do.

Re: Next Spyderco?
Next update: My first four list is finally complete (bottom left), plus all of those others to learn about about Spyderco (excluding a few kitchen oriented knives). As for SE, two of my top five are SE, but I'll post that in the other thread.

Re: Next Spyderco?
I found the lil Native to be too small for my hands. ymmv But you have come a long way in just a few months.
What I don't see in your very nice pile is a Sliverax which is a beautiful flipper that feels great in the hands and is a joy to open and use. I got one when they were on sale on a whim and it has jumped into my top 5 which is hard to do. To me it is a wonderful sleeper knife that sits on the sidelines while the PM2, Native 5, Shaman, and others bask in their glory.

Remember the jade is one of the best to dye as it is not dyed already. I definitely like the jade.riclaw wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 10:17 pmThanks for posting. I bought one and it came in last night. Re: Next Spyderco?
Thanks.
I did some comparisons with the Lil Native versus what I have, the Chap and Native 5. It would be a bit smaller than the Chap, but I find the Chap already a great size for pocket carry, especially if I remove the clip. I'm not sure I need to go even smaller. That's also one of the reasons I haven't gotten something like the Dragonfly or Manbug.

Re: Next Spyderco?
Thanks. It's hard to believe that, before this, I didn't really care for Spyderco. I didn't understand the spydiehole or like the hump it often made when closed. Now, here I am.kriezek wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 8:17 pmI found the lil Native to be too small for my hands. ymmv But you have come a long way in just a few months.

I've got a few gaps still. I'll take another look at the Silverax.

Re: Next Spyderco?
I've thought about the jade GB2, but keep getting hung up on the handle. I know it can be dyed. But, it's still translucent so I'm not sure it can ever be dark. It's a similar reason why I have not gotten an Ultem yet also. Perhaps I need the G10/CF version instead as I like that on my Chap.
