Willingly ignorant people forgave Copernicus hundreds of years after his death for claiming the Sun was the center of our solar system.

They can't even predict the weather accurately MOST of the time. ;)

So you really expect them to be able to tell people when something may happen thousands of years from now?

Or even 100 years or less.

And something we have no data on so they have no clue what may actually happen.

People who study have plenty of data and plenty of clues.
TV Binging clickbait followers might not have data or clues, but that's a life choice.
Being educated and being ignorant takes exactly the same amount of time.
Put down the comic books, exercise your intellects.

Actually no, they don't have data... ;)

Were would they get it from?

As far as we know it's never happened, at least as far back as records have been kept anyway.

Humans haven't been around long enough keep records and having the tools etc.

So all they can do is guess.

As far as the poles shifting they have tens of millions if not billions of years worth of data available in the rock/crust that they take a core sample of. They do this and then look at what way the iron lines up in the core sample and they can tell quite accurately where the poles were at the time.

They estimate that the poles change every 300,000 to 400,000 years, and the Earth has not had a pole change in 700,000+ years.

I am not worried about it. I am not planning on doing anything if the poles change. If anything negative happens it will happen to me too. I do not know what will happen, that is why I struck up the conversation. But some people get their dander up for even starting the conversation.

I doubt anyone really knows what will or won't happen, and or when it might happen for that matter.

Personally I don't buy it will happen anytime soon.

Sounds like more end of the world gloom and doom conspiracy theories to me.
