Dr Larrin Thomas' New Video on Knife Steels
The tail end of this short video is a bit of an ad for his more recent steel book, which I (EDITED: just bought). There just are no excellent books on knife steels out there other than Dr Thomas' books.

That looks fascinating. It’s in my Amazon cart. I like the period-appropriate music, clothing, and black-and-white videography in Larrin’s video. What fun!

I did not see that many books in stock on Amazon so I hurried up and ordered one. I just hope that I get it by mid December. I know people are going to be ordering like mad around Christmas time.

Thanks for sharing the video. It was fun to make, and I think it is important to remember the people who innovated in knives and steel.

Nice one, Larrin! The geographic and visual context is excellent.
I grew up not too far from Bethlehem and the steel works were still running when I was a little kid. It was quite a sight.
I also remember even in the 80s the 'Burgh still had rather foul air from all the iron and steel production.

We Spyderco fans have been so spoiled with such a great selection of different blade steels to choose from. But I don't want to change anything in that regard. We are also so blessed to have a great guy like "Larrin" here to educate us all on the various properties on all of these blade steels.
