Yeah, my SIL (big Cubs fan) texted me yesterday losing his mind with excitement! He really liked David Ross as a player but not as a coach.

Sorry Rick! He'll probably be coach of the year too :-||
Sounds like Cubs are reloading . It will be interesting who stays and goes and they are going to do a serious rebuild . Dan
Probably going to be a crazy offseason! Not a lot of big free agents(other than Ohtani & Bellinger) out there so I'm expecting some crazy trades coming down the pike....

Craig Counsell should relocate. It will not be pleasant for his family in Milwaukee any longer. Seriously.

By the way, I am not at all saying I blame him for taking a 45% raise over what his current employers would pay. Most of us would do that. There won't be a lot of understanding among the Brewers' faithful though.

I totally understand what your saying.
But, I gotta wonder if the Brewers ownership offered to match or even come close to what the cubbies offered? It's not like the Brewers owners are poor

Yea, I'm a bit torn. Totally understand from a financial standpoint, but man...the CUBS...really!?!? That gives me traitor vibes! Win the division and then going into the unknown, other than losing our manager and #2 pitcher for the year before the seaaon is even close to starting. Not looking good heading into next season.

I heard yesterday the Cubs offer was double the Brewer offer . I’m not sure if true but also there were rumors he could leave at end of season . My problem with the whole thing is Cubs operations praised Ross and his efforts at end of season . I felt he did a pretty good job considering hat he had to work with and keep the team focused . They then say Craig is another level of manager after the deal is done . So much for loyalty. Dan

Loyalty is painfully rare these days, no matter where you look.
I've read quite a bit about it, and sorting it out, it sounds like Milwaukee offered $5.5/27.5 million, and Chicago, 8/40 million. Big difference.

True , hard to pass up and hopefully Craig will get front office support putting pieces in place to be more competitive. Ha ha not too competitive! I am a Cardinal fan ! 😁 Dan

Yes it is....
Seems to me the Brewers ownership could've done more to keep him
But, then again maybe the Brewers know what they're doing. I mean, ya never know.

I guess we'll find out how it ends up. The Giants hired the Padres manager too, so there is that.

Brewers are too cheap. Baseball needs a salary cap, it's painfully obvious these days...granted Arizona and Texas shocked everyone this year.

Living in New York and able to see the Yankees and Mets spend a ridiculous amount of money more than the Brewers, and end up being worse teams...drives me up a wall, many seasons lately.
