Visiting my son today and he found this Spyderco/Wegner. I gave it to him in2009. Marked “Alaska Department of Game & Fish”

I am so glad he found it! ATS 34 too 👍

I did a check on Spydiewiki and Wenger Alaska is not even listed . Rare bird . MG2
This is what I found on the way-way back machine - apparently directing people to the Blade-Tech web site:

January 27th 2000

Per Tim Wegner

“…. The skinny on the C48/Wegner clipits with the Alaska Fish & Game logoes etched on the blades. These knives are done specifically for active and retired Alaska fish and game employees. We have been allowed to sell a small number of surplus knives to collectors, but as of this post we will be referring customers directly to The Alaska Dept.of F&G.
Our website erroneously mentioned that these knives were available to the public from Blade-Tech, this is incorrect and I apologize for any inconvienience this my have caused. I am in the process of having my webmaster update our site with the corrected info which will also follow in this post. THE LOGOED KNIVES ARE AVAILABLE, but can only be officially purchased through the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game Hunter Information and Training Program….”

A great 5th pocket EDC! Maybe the best. I have been looking at traditionals with a wharncliffe blade as a 2nd carry to drop down in the pocket clipless. Not much out there. This seems about perfect.

Literally everyday Jeff. It is about perfect. Before this was the dogtag. Is wharncliffe, but not so traditional design. Have eyed the Manbug Wharncliffe many times, but hard to think it will push the Kiwi out.

The K390 Endura Wharncliffe is a real workhorse of a knife, if you’re still looking, Jeff.

Pickles and peanut butter in a hot dog bun… you been buying too many Spydies lately? :thinking :rofl

I’ve seen that done with a banana but using a pickle might be the most interesting combination of food I’ve seen in a long time. I’d try it. :cheap-sunglasses

I do not doubt you there! My wharncliffe preferences tend to fall to the smaller blades. I grabbed another RJ for under $60 shipped, just serrated this time. I may grab a Yojimbo next year or find one on sale if I'm patient. For some reason the grooves feel better in hand on that one than a Delica. The Micro Jimbo or the Lil Native may be a great back pocket carry too. I would really like to have a wharncliffe on hand at all times as a 2nd option more for utility purposes.

Well that was fast! Thanks guys! Dan helped me find a SE Rock Jumper. $56.44 at Knives Ship Free and that is to my door. Gives me a chance to compare serrations directly to my very used PE Rock Jumper. Plus it replaces my lost Serrated Leaf Jumper that was going to be my serrated test drive.

Also, KSF must have made a mistake because I went back to see if they had more and now it is $64.44. 🤷

Ha! Yeah I did even though the thought crossed my mind to take a shot in the store and save $13 but it was too crowded plus I would’ve had to open two packages then set up a full blown display in Publix…you wanna talk about willpower ?…just realized no one in the family has any when it comes to these 😳
