Tough to boil it down to just five, and if you ask me the same question again in 6 months, my answers might be completely different except for a couple of all-time favourites. But my current list is the following:

• Yojimbo 2 DLC (CPM S30V): My go-to work knife
• Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight (Takefu VG10): My favoured personal carry outside of work
• Native 5 Salt SE Yellow FRN (CPM MagnaCut): My running/hiking/outdoors folder
• Dragonfly 2 British Racing Green FRN (Hitachi ZDP-189): A small but formidable folder for situations requiring both edge retention and discretion. Also, a sentimental favourite (this was my first Spyderco)
• Schempp Rock (Takefu VG10): A versatile outdoors use fixed blade that's been part of my trail-maintenance kit for several years

I have quite a few more than 5 Spydercos that I like and at this point I hardly ever carry something else.
That said, the most irreplaceable Spyderco I own is the DF2 wharncliffe in k390. So that's my list of one. All the others could, though preferably not, in some sense be substituted with knives from other brands.

Honorable mention to the S2XL G-10 in cruwear, it was the hardest one to omit in both lists. It's so, so good, but it mostly comes down to enjoyment of it's non-functional features; sebenza-smoothness, dense, design, craftmanship... There's no other knife in my collection I find my self holding in my hand and just admire as much as this one. It's a functional knife, don't get me wrong, but the knives listed offer more of the unique features that are important for my use and why I so often end up with a Spyderco in my pocket.

Some hard choices to be made for sure, and actually a bit inspirational. I keep to many knives around and I really had to think hard to come up with this list. Soon, hopefully after the upcoming reveal, these two lists will merge to some extent, and it will be the perfect opportunity to do a big purge. I'll definitively keep more than 5, but 10?? not totally impossible, I think.

In that case I'd change my Military 1 to a 2. I've handled one and the ergonomics and tip up carry work better for me, just holding out on the DLC release.
