A bit different vibe than my usual stuff, came across it on a random playlist at work today. Found it catchy.

I only recently heard about Blackburn & Snow, a San Francisco folk-rock duo who split up in 1967. After their breakup, most of their material went unreleased and forgotten, until a collection was finally released over 30 years later, in 1999. Their sound was very reminiscent of The Mama's & the Papas, with excellent vocal harmonies.

I read about them in the excellent book, Eight Miles High: Folk Rock's Flight from Haight-Ashbury to Woodstock, by Richie Unterberger. It's one of the several books I had purchased during the early lockdown era that I never got around to reading until the past month.

Sherry Snow had been approached by Jefferson Airplane to replace Signe Anderson, but she had turned them down; Grace Slick ended up taking the spot, and the rest is history.

Some woman really must have hurt this guy! All acoustic, none of my typical crazy music. Came across it on a Youtube mix while working.
