Spyderco 90's Jackpot

Local knife shop bought a collection from a guy who was a publisher for Guns & Ammo during the '90s. Supposedly Spyderco sent him 1 of each every year. They're all hand etched with #046 or 047 (don't remember which). I told the guy that it sounds like a early collector's club thing.

The guy at the shop said he thinks they have buyer lined up. If it falls through they may sell them individually by having a viewing by invite one night after hours. I left my contact info and told him I'm interested

A lot of genius will be found in those white boxes.

I only had opportunity to open the pouches and a few of the boxes. I found a couple Micarta Goddards, Navigator(?), and some others. Based on what I saw and what I was told I'm pretty sure everything in that bin is production models but I'm sure there's some cool stuff in there. I would've loved to open each one and see what's inside but I felt like I was pushing my luck and the guy wanted to get back to work. I was appreciative he chose to share with me what he did. I'm still hoping their pending deal falls through and I get the opportunity to see all of them and maybe buy a couple

Jackpot for sure!

Ahh.. the 90s and guns & ammo bring back memories.
US gun magazines did cost an arm and a leg over here in the 90s and probably accounted for most of my discretionary spending in my teens.

I wonder what happened to that stack of magazines? Would be so cool to go through them again. Amongst many reasons, to look for Spyderco/knife adverts, to see if I missed any opportunities to get into this hobby at a much earlier time. I was all about guns back then and probably wouldn’t have spotted a good knife if someone hit me in the face with one.
