I am not sure , his sister never told me that he flew the seaplane . He was a commercial pilot and have no idea if he was qualified to fly that plane . Dan

The exact song that was playing in my car on my CD player the morning of September 11th, 2001. Freshman year in college, the first plane hit as I was getting my books and lunch together to head out for the day. I was thinking how weird it was that a plane could actually hit one of those towers. I had recently bought this Sum 41 CD, so I was excited to listen through it and didn't have the radio on.

I got to school around 20 minutes later and there was a ton of people in the parking lot talking, which was strange. I naturally asked the closest group of kids what was going on and they said 2 planes have struck the World Trade Center buildings, that our country is under a terrorist attack. Professors were excusing everyone from classes.

I never even went into school. I hopped back in my car, and called my mother. I was terrified. Being in New York, granted far from the NYC, I wasn't sure what to do and what or where was safe. She told me to head back home and that she was also leaving work and would meet me there.

I'll never forget turning my car back on to leave, when 15 minutes ago I was driving in and feeling good, enjoying my new CD, most songs very fast and upbeat. This was the song that played when I turned my car back on, and no longer having those same vibes, knowing our lives would be forever changed that day.

Hard to believe that this song came out 22 years ago. It's one of the VERY few 21st century songs that I like. There's just something about it...a certain life and energy to it. Because it was still early in the 2000s, it still had a bit of that late-'90s feel to it. I heard it a lot back then, then hadn't thought about it until this morning, when I heard it while grocery shopping.

I was in my late 30s when this came out. I'm 60 now. To all of you 30-something guys and gals out there, enjoy yourselves while it lasts, because time slips by in the blink of an eye.
