Well there's already a good number of slipjoints here, a simple handle material change would not be as exciting as I hoped.

But if this is what people wants 😀
To be honest, the handle color is not the main player here but will be part of the complete package with some nice steel. I will not lie, I love K390, M390, CPM S90V and Magnacut... we will see, we will see :smirk

I'm allowed to wish, right? :)
So i wish for a Chap or Delica with stabilized curly birch scales.

https://www.brisa.fi/se/stab-masur

I´d NOT say no at all to this.. ;)

And, a man can dream: Make it that "high performance Delica"... :smirk
My thinking was, let`s start with some affordable model and then, if it will be sold out as fast as hot pie, we can most probably work this way up to Delica, Chap, Sage etc. I do believe that this all depends on the success of first batch :cheap-sunglasses . It seems we are moving into right direction even discussion wise and I am really glad for great response so far from all of you guys.

Wouldn't it be better to go for a really popular model instead of trying to fit the chaos that is knife laws in EU? People still buy knives they aren't allowed to carry freely all over EU for collecing or use outdoors (where the rules are usually much more relaxed).

I think it would easily sell if it was one of the japanese models or, riding the hype of a new model, the Military 2, or lastly and obviously some of the evergreens like PM2, Manix 2, Shaman etc.

That's what I meant with business decisions favouring models like the pm2 and the manix. They just sell.
Personally I'd be fine with anything, but I am also know to carry a pm2 when not heading into town...
Though generally speaking I would prefer something with a smaller footprint than a pm2

And I totally wouldn't mind a Kapara sprint :winking-tongue

Put me down as 'tentatively interested'. It will depend on the selected model though (if it's anything featuring an oversized choil, I'm out)

Oh, it's wishing time again?

Well, I'll have a Marcin Slysz take on a large, modern slipjoint in Magnacut or LC200N with EU-blue anodized titanium scales then pls... thank you.

Oooooh, a Kapara in an interesting setup would be sweet! Something like MagnaCut or S90V and maybe colored AluTex or other CF-like handle. But hard to imagine - Taichung Sprints/Exclusives are really rare from what I've found.

I think my previous comment got "lost" ( I mean, probably did not hit submit..).

I mostly am interested in salt models unless the price is really interesting on a UKPK by example.

Now if we are allowed to wish anything, I assume one day I'll have to splash on a Spydiechef.
A blue european FRN version may help me do that.

I thought this video about the EDC of a bunch of knife people in Italy was fairly timely and relevant to a lot of the discussion in this thread regarding what sort of knives are actually carried by Europeans.

There are a lot of locking knives.
The selection of knives and tools isn’t significantly distinct from what you could find in similar peoples’ pocket in the US.

I just think it’s super interesting!

Short answer: Yes

Long answer: **** yes!

Obviously, it would be a model that sells well. I am not going to speculate.

Realistically I think it should be an affordable and popular model for the first (?) European exclusive...

Can't quite bring myself to propose a Para 3 (and I think it actually IS, while certainly really liked by many, an a bit polarizing model)

But perhaps a Manix 2 LW (or G10, the LW just would be more affordable)?

A "boost" for an European Manix 2 exclusive certainly would be if the regular production SALT version would be out already and they made a Lamnia version (different color) of that (Magnacut) Manix... :smirk

If the regular Manix 2 LW Salt will come in translucent yellow, but a fictional Lamnia version in another color, they could sell even more since quite some folks appearantly are not the biggest translucent yellow fans... ;)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

IIRC the Manix 2 is a rather big knife, so this aspect wouldn't help reach the widest possible adoption.
