These are the only two on my radar and will likely be the last Spyderco purchase unless they come out in Magnacut then it will be a purchase all over again.

Military2 CPM-S30V Black DLC Blade PlainEdge Black G-10 C36GPBK2 (USA)
Military2 CPM-S30V Black DLC Blade SpyderEdge Black G-10 C36GSBK2 (USA)

If they come out as salt which in my mind equals lightweight in Magnacut then no thanks.

To my mind I do not like the salt series construction even though I own a few Salt series and seeing the PM2 coming out in that construction using Magnacut is not something I want, Yeah I get it corrosion resistance and all that and the continual move towards lightweight construction, I have a few Spyderco in light weight construction and it is just not for me.

I own the REC Wharncliffe PM2"s in the two different steels in Satin as well as DLC these are the best PM2's out of the 20 or so I have purchased. I certainly hope the Military 2 receives a Wharncliffe blade in normal construction as it is now but in Magnacut.

Speaking of Magnacut I have a Chris Reeve large Inkosi Insingo in Magnacut with natural Micarta inlays inbound today, It will be interesting to see how well it works as I already own a Spyderco in Magnacut and a Bark River Knives fixed blade in Magnacut.

Jury is still out on the Spyderco's implementation of Magnacut as the excellent serrations skew perceptions. Looking forward to more of my favorite Spyderco designs in Magnacut for sure, none of them on the list are it though. :(

The magnacut PM2 is not going to be a lightweight. See the below post from the Amsterdam meet preview; it'll still be G10 scales with a little extra texturing.

The Spyderco Salt series will be expanded with a Para Military 2. There truly will be a Para Military 2 for any occasion I guess, with all the variants we’ve seen so far, and now one for maritime use. This production sample featured black peel-ply G-10 handle scales, finished with a design of bidirectional grooves. According to Eric, the overall plan is to make a Salt version of every knife, made in the US factory. And although it’s hard to make out in these photos, I had a hard time getting a good shot of the engraving, the blade will be made of MagnaCut. The liners and all other hardware were coated black.

I must be missing it I do not see G-10 specified anywhere not that is matters the only PM2 I could ever be enticed to buy again would be a Wharncliffe in Magnacut other than that I have collected way too many drop point PM2's over the years in different steel only to come back to S30V as my favorite. I thought it was around 20 but that is what I have in stock if I count the sales over the years it is probably in the neighborhood of 40 but after the Wharncliffe the drop point just does not compare. Rivers edge cutlery still has som in stock last I looked it would be a good move to get on while they are available.

Not to mention, it has the same peel-ply texturing that Spyderco employs on their G-10. Only difference are the added grooves/routing channels (which looks quite nice, IMO).

Can't wait for the Military 2 in this configuration :cheap-sunglasses.

I bought the original BladeOps PM2 Emerson S30V on Cyber Monday 2020 for $136! That was a good pick up. Wonder if this one will also be on sale in November...

I am pretty excited for this release. Elmax is one of my favorites and the Emerson wave makes a lot of sense once you put a wise men signet ring on it. I will be doing the same to the matriarch 2. Cheers everyone -Mike
