Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
i thought they had a cheap look and feel at first too. after using it for a bit, it's definitely not cheap. it's durable and strong. i prefer the g10 versions, but the lw is nice for lw shorts and for a backup hiking knife, or as a primary hiking knife if you don't carry a fixed blade like i usually do.Spydieaddict19 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 9:57 amWhat's your opinion on the lw scales? i carried mine today because i was walking for a while in lw shorts, but i carried it for a long time before i got a g10 manix and the frcp is good to go.

I have handles with all the different kinds of scale materials. I like them all. I can't say I like FRN/FRCP the best but I probably have a knife with that material in my pocket the most. It's durable, grippy, and very functional. Maybe it doesn't feel like its as high in quality as other materials but it sure does the job well

That’s a fantastic shot. Maybe even a photo of the week winner

Too hot in my garage. So I'm working on a friend's rifle in my kitchen
I took my Kapara apart last night and did a little tuning. Sometimes I wonder if I should sell the first run model and buy the latest and greatest CQI version. This one went back together so nice that I no longer wonder if I should upgrade. The action is great and no blade play. No reason to change now

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
I've actually got another DLC 1 coming soon. Couldn't hold out for the 2 lol. I'll end up with 3 or 4 Millies overall whenever the DLC and SE 2's release. Thinking a PE Digicam and CE or SE blacked out when it comes to the 2.
The one in the mail is a CQI model, so fully coated hardware. I'm pumped about that. The one in the photo has does a good job not rusting despite a lot of summer carry. Just a bit of spotting on the stop pin, that's it.
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
My murdered out CQI military has the best detent I’ve ever had on a mili.
Same with my murdered out pm2 in s45vn.
My pj mili 2 is somewhat soft, unfortunately. (At least to my liking)
I like firm detents!
