15V Shaman Washers

#1

Post by _centurio_ »

Hi together,

I was able to pick that one up, extremely happy. It is executed very well.

I noticed that there are two washers on each side. Is that normal?

That sounds strange for sure. I've taken apart 3 different Shaman's and they all had one washer per side.
15 :bug-red 's in 10 different steels
1 - Bradford Guardian 3 / Vanadis 4E Wharnie
1 - Monterey Bay Knives Slayback Flipper / ZDP 189
1 - CRK Small Sebenza 31/Macassar Ebony Inlays

Thanks for the answers.

I highly doubt that it could be fake. Reputated dealer, everything feels like a real Shaman. I paid 390€. There is absolutely no wobble or blade play. I just find it to be strange. Maybe they had to do it to eliminate horizontal blade play due to a too thick backspacer or something, I do not know...

Have you ever experienced 2 washers on each side on any Spyderco knife?

Are you certain that's not an optical illusion? Did you take it apart to confirm?

That's just an illusion.

Mine looks the same when light hits it at the right angle, and definitely only has one on each side.

Thank you so much.

I took it apart, it really was an illusion...

So, now I really can not find anything which is not well executed. What a top notch fit and finish. What a beast of a knife.

Have a great day.
