My Navigator or my original issue Matriarch are my EDC and are my all time favorite Spyderco knives, though I have over 50 others!

Image Either of these two magnacut salts. Just last weekend at a friends house. We were hanging out in his salt water pool and someone said oh no you still have your knife clipped on your pocket. 😁😎 I immediately cheesed and said. It’s a salt knife! Lol. Or when people ask about the colors I dyed. Or the fact I use it at restaurants that give you plastic knives. These guys always make me smile.

As a new crappy freehander, anything I take down to 10DPS is currently making me smile. Doesn't really matter which steel any more. They all produce a "wow!" signal effect because I'm used to 15DPS.

The other day I went to touch something up on the sharpmaker and I was unimpressed with the result, and I sharpened a Wusthof-knockoff for my mom on my new Fine benchstone and she wouldn't stop raving about the performance. I didn't even spend very long on it. What in the world is happening to me :rofl

Sometimes the sharpmaker brings me back down to earth and reality, as my results can vary wildy, and yes, that Wusthof pretender won't stay amazing for long, but that's alright, just means I get to sharpen it again.

Without a question … yes, you guess correctly … my Schempp Bowie. It got a lot of use during our vacation in Slovakia (mostly around small food prep)

most of my spydercos make me smile, but the spyderco that makes me smile most isn't mine. it's my son's personalized delica from sal.

Lil’Temp 1, 2, or 3, but especially the LW now, having learned from Sal that he intended the G10 version, which I love, to be just a prototype for the LW. Nice to experience the CQI process knowingly.

EDIT TO ADD: The Lil’Temp is not the only one, I must add.

I had a lightweight version a few years back. I liked it, but the wire clip lost retention quickly and at that point I started gravitating towards larger knives. A fine small knife though, can't hate on it!

Strange, I've never had the slightest problem with the wire clip on mine or on my Sage 1 when I had it.

Every Spyderco makes me smile, but these get the biggest grins:

Any and all Native 5s
PM2 CruCarta
BBB Shaman
Para 3 Maxamet
Mannix 2 XL Cruwear / Smooth Black G10
Yojimbo 2 DLC
DFly K390
Phoenix Sprint
Ayoob PE Sprint
Chief M390 Sprint
Kapara
Ikuchi
Opus
Pattadese
Smock
Tropen
Valloton Sub-hilt

And... The humble Astute, and gallant Polestar, which I love beyond all rational reasoning.

All my Spydies make me happy in different ways, but the ones that made me smile most recently are:

- Mid-backlock Manix. I think it's a combination of handle shape and the fine G10 texture, but this one is like shaking hands with an old friend. Every time it comes up in rotation it makes me smile.

- Delica with the desert camo scales (my favorite pattern). It doesn't have the smoothest action, but it carries well, cuts very well, and fits naturally in-hand. (I have both the drop-point and wharncliffe.)
