OHHHH I didn’t realize lol. I thought I seen some people receiving some aqua salt with no nicks on it.

The Aqua Salt FRN is a little grabby around the lanyard hole and at the butt of the handle. I take a round diamond file to it to knock it down a bit.

This is true on both 1st quality and seconds.

No difference that I can detect other than the seconds notch between the two.

i received my Mysterybox today.
The journey to this day is was really exciting - it’s like a lottery, but with winning at least something.

This something is also what i feel i received -

a Lavaflow PM2 in M4 from SMKW i think
and a Bow River

i’ve almost no use for fixed Blades and the little need i do have is covered by several Mules.

i was very excited for folding knives, new Models, new steels
in my collection are already PM2s and also M4 Knives - ok to be honest the Bowrivers 8Cr is new to the bunch - but meh

Considering i payed $270,- after shipping and taxes i’m not the happiest of campers
but thill I was greatly entertained during the sale and while waiting.

maybe i’ve more luck next year
I got the exact same box!

Finally got all my Seconds Sale items. 😁I'll try to get a breakdown of all the items at some point maybe, but so far, impressed with the quality of each in terms of qc. Image

Nice haul!

Thanks! Here's the whole spread. Honestly, I can't even find any major defect in any of these. If I'm being critical, it the only qc issues I could find are the snaggletooth in the Ayoob, but to be honest, I don't think it looks bad...and the very hard slipjoint lock on the Terns. One has a lock so hard to close it borders on being dangerous, I'll keep that one for mods and probably give/sell the better Tern. If not for the tiny nick in the blade, you'd be hard-pressed to find out if these are seconds or not.

Image

Complete breakdown:
Ayoob
15v Manix 2
15v PM2
Lil' Native Backlock (x2)
Lil' Native Slipjoint
Byrd Wings (x2)
Byrd Tern (x2)

Overall, I'm very happy with all these and every seconds that I have purchased so far, since the very first sale back in 2020.

Well, I owe the Spyderco crew a very big thank you. Someone from their team reached out to me that they came across a Military 2nds I may be interested in, and I really appreciate that. Means a lot to me. I'm definitely going to put this one to good use!

As far as flaws go it looks pretty good. There's some light marks on the DLC that'll probably come off with use, and the blades a touch off center which I can fix. Edge is sharp and even enough for me.

Only thing is the detent is a bit lighter than I'd like. Not as extreme as the shake open 52100/cf I had and sold, but just light enough I'd like to learn how to mod the knife to increase detent pressure.

Does anyone have a link handy for me? I think I remember something about a triangular diamond bit spun by hand?

Weak detents are my least favorite trait.

I used Hans tutorial on the GB2. Link below:

It's really easy to do. I recently did 3 more knives. They're much improved
