Actually, that's a very good question. I don't know, but would like to.

I personally would have infinitely more fun in the "testing" department. I've always been good at breaking things, too bad I never learned to fix them :D

Hey, that sounds like me. When something can't be broken, my friends call it 'Ted-proof'. They even gave my wife a 'Ted-proof' certificate on our wedding party  :D

Ted, LOL!

Only wished that Spyderco had a department over here so I don't have to look for another job anymore....

Are they all men or are them some women also. What is their primary function? Packing and shipping? You don't actually make the knives do you?

We're pretty equally split among men and women. Yes, several models are made here in Golden by our crew (WTC knife, Military, Para-Military, Native, Chinook II, Manix, ATR Ti, Dodo and Yojimbo). We have women in nearly every department (including production), some more so than others. Our entire Sales department (Domestic and International Wholesale) is women (someone once said "Women, that's Spyderco's secret weapon).

As for Japan, we don't own the factories there, so their people aren't considered employees of Spyderco.

:D
