Oh my…

EDIT TO ADD: I love my S30V Lil’ Temp3 in G10, but my VG10 LT3LW is actually more compelling, and, while I love VG10, I find K390 even more compelling. So, I couldn’t resist. Got one on the way.

Do these use the same clip as the native 5 lw?

ETA- the hole spacing looks the same but clip looks specific to the little temp and the handle divot :thinking

I might have to cave on this one.

Guessing it’s going to be really nice. I hope they ground them thin, thin. It has hefty blades stock so take it down skinny at the edge.

Due to the economy of scale of the design for the manufacturer to make it.

You're never just buying raw materials, as an end consumer, there can be hidden costs to the different shapes and sizes that are invisible to people outside of manufacturing that are meeting the challenges to produce it.

It's a fun knife, get it in your hands before you judge it, the ergonomics are outstanding.

Steep even compared to other K390 & FRN folders granted LT3 has thicker blade stock and Compression Lock:

  • Lil’ Temperance3: $217.00
  • Police4: $175.70
  • Stretch2: $149.80
  • Endura4: $142.80
  • Endela: $138.25
  • LeafJumper: $137.90
  • Delica4: $123.20
  • Dragonfly2: $106.40
  • Manbug: $78.05
  • Ladybug: $65.80

I think it is fair to assume that this model is not going to achieve sale volue of a PM2 or Delica, so any fixed costs that had to be invested will add a lot more to the total price.

EDIT: Plus of course whatever model-related intricacies that can't be 'guessed' from outside.

Recall that the Lil’ Temperance series is over-built to withstand requirements of a particular SD style. Its greater robustness compared to models listed above might account for its higher price.

Can confirm it's not the same as the Native 5 LW, assuming the LT3 LW uses the same hole pattern as the G10. The only aftermarket clip I ever found to work on the LT3 was this one with a hole spacing of 0.50" https://www.knifekits.com/vcom/model-de ... 12670.html. Of course I only found that out after I fashioned a wire clip adapter for mine, but could've saved myself the trouble if I found that clip first ;)

I would love to hear how the action is on these. I've heard they can have pretty tight pivots.

I don't have the K390 version, but I have the VG10 variant. It is not at all like a model out of Golden -- no drop shut action. This can mean different things to different people. Was a I a little surprised by this? Yes. With a little wrist it is still a one-handed knife. To me, the comfort of the handle trumps everything else. I think it is a fantastic knife regardless of the action.
