The Manix is the more capable knife under most circumstances. The Military family just seems to carry more prestige with it for whatever reason, which can lead to more demand and a higher price (in the knife community as a whole). I honestly think the biggest difference in their cost stems from is the compression lock being more complicated/machine intensive to produce. And I believe you're correct when you said exclusives are priced at commission.

This has to be a pretty compelling option for anyone in the market for a G10 Manix. Personally I find even the skeletonized ones to be a tad too heavy for my preference, so I’m unlikely to expand my G10 choices beyond the one I already have.
Hopefully the LW salt will soon come around and relieve me of my urges to finally get a LW.

I would really like a Manix in 20CV but the nicest thing that I can say about this knife is that it will be easy to find if you set it down somewhere. The ‘Safety Green’ is great for a job site but I’m not sure that it’s something that I would want to carry in a casual situation.

scales are pretty easy to switch out. it's extra cost, but don't let the scale color keep you from a knife you really want. i've put new scales on two manixes now and i even liked the scale color they came with.

An even cheaper option if you don't like the bright green scales is to RIT dye them. I have taken apart a few Manix 2s and it wouldn't be that difficult to pop them off and hit them with a darker color.

My Para 3's color has been washed out over the past 6 months of using it at a garden design job. The neon green is now way less radiant.

I had the same one, and it seemed to loose it's "brightness" pretty quickly, and looked a little dingy at times. I ended up reselling it when paring down my collection a bit, but I was really considering dyeing it OD green, or that browner OD green that the DLT cruwear Seki knives had.

I love how these exclusives come out cheaper than the production version. I can't knock 20CV or the cheerful color. Even though it isn't my favorite, the green Salt handles grew on me. Plus rit dye exists.

I think it's a solid value in a robust folder with a very good performing steel, despite some steel nerds' opinion to the contrary. Some dark rit dye can super easily make those scales a darker shade of green in short order if desired. This is an easy buy.

I already have a 20CV Manix 2 except it has red scales. So I'll be passing on this one. I do like the bright green handle though

I’ll be buying one. I already have 5-6 Manixs and 20cv is the same thing as m390, but that TKJ is the one I’ve really been after. I just missed two lnib ones for $120 each in the last two weeks. Been looking for a lot longer that that too. It’ll happen some day lol.

Also looking for TKJ Shaman with black liners. TKJ really pics unique exclusives, I like them for that.
