Congrats on the quick sellout! I think the drops are fun when it’s a bit of a competition on getting one. I do understand other’s frustrations that don’t have the same opinion.

that's some information you're giving there Chad ! I hope we'll see more of this in the future :grin-smiling-eyes
I hope folks at Golden love your folde prototype and it grows to become a beloved Spyderco model.

It's a hazing process, Gene. If your chair is wet with sweat and you're taking antacids, you're part of the club.
Great. Just great. Now I’m obsessing about not seeing a shipping notice yet. Maybe they forgot about me. 😂

Got my shipping notice yesterday and should be here Saturday. Had to break out my only other Mule in 20CV and put a fresh edge on it in anticipation.

Got two in person on Tuesday. Opened them up right now. Sort of wish they didn’t have the logo on the right side. It’s basically a big black blob and looks ugly. Many probably won’t agree with me but these are my thoughts.

Patiently waiting on my shipping notice, but congrats to those that got them already. Gonna need to find or make some brown scales to go with the BBB 15V aesthetic.

I've been a huge fan of Spyderco since the mid 90's. I have a little over a dozen Spyderco's currently but this 15V Mule is my first Mule and I'm super excited to get it! Tracking says it'll be here Tuesday which sucks because that's gonna be a looong wait for me. LOL I'm going to try my hand at making a set of G10 scales for it myself as I'm an avid tinkerer and hobbyist. I logged on right at 11:30 my time (east coast) and it was VERY slow but I managed to grab one. I really kick myself for not just grabbing two while I was there because my best friend who was lucky enough to grab a 15V Shaman (I missed all those sadly) ran into problems with his work computer and missed out on one and didn't let me know until that afternoon when they were all long gone. If I had grabbed two I would have A: saved on shipping and B; been able to give my buddy one.

Great data point, thank you for sharing. Do you have anything to add on the microstructure?

Add me to the list who surprisingly have not yet received a shipping notification. They must be swamped at SFO.

Arriving this afternoon! Im stoked. This will by far be my highest HRc knife to date.

My current sharpening setup is only the standard Sharpmaker and a 4 micron diamond paste stroop. Is that adequate for 15v or do I need to look into a set of Diamond/CBN/Ceramic rods? I dont go crazy with my sharpening, but want an adequate basic setup to handle this.

Also shawn, I found your youtube channel and you have a very watchable personality. Your 8 minute knife sharpening video is great. Make more content like that. I like learning from experts and you have a lot of knowledge to share about sharpening and steels I can tell. And you just seem like a nice guy so win-win! Looking forward to whatever else you do with Spyderco. You guys are a great team - keep it up!

Thanks for the test data and micrograph @Deadboxhero
Curious if the microstructure pictured is of the 15V mule you have pictured above, or is that a separately prepped sample?

Also... thanks for getting 15V with a good HT in the Mule Team. Stoked to get my hands on it.

I received my 2 this morning from UPS. They are certainly beautiful. Both came razor sharp. I paired them both with custom Hazy Design Studio scales from Etsy. They always fit beautifully.

I should add that one of the blades came with all of the handle holes drilled about 1/1000" too short and the handle pins would not fit through all the way. Luckily the 2 holes I needed were easily drilled out and the pins now fit perfectly. I thought I heard of someone else with a similar issue. I hope its not a common issue as I can see not everyone being able to fix the problem themselves.

I already have the Manix 2, Shamam and PM2 in 15V and am excited to get to try out this beautiful Mule.

One for me and one for my dad:
