It has taken taken me a while to warm up to the Caribbean but when I found it on sale and the fact that there are discontinued I changed my mind.
The "discontinued" thing pushed me over the edge.

I was scanning the internet knife stores and I found the Caribbean SE leaf on sale at knife center for $194.95.
I think the yellow stripes are kind of funky looking but the price is pretty good so I ordered it.
David shared some photos of scales that were dyed. So this knife may be changing color after I get it.

Thanks, Mongo, for posting this heads-up. I have succumbed, also to the SE. I had planned on getting a Pacific Salt 2 as my first SE, but this one wins out by a hair.
both are great choices. i didn't fully appreciate the caribbean until i had it in my hand.

According to the USPS, I have received the Caribbean. I'll find out tonight when I get home from work.

Mine arrived a little while ago. Just a touch of adjustment and it's as good a flipper as my PM2. After my initial eyebrow-raising at the handle, it's growing on me and I'm finding nothing not to like about it. Will give it the bagel test later this evening.

That's my thinking - I'm planning to have my Caribbean SE and Siren with me fishing this Summer.

I was stunned at how sharp this knife is. When I got it today I slashed the plastic padded envelope it arrived in, to shreds.

My fully serrated Caribbean is not only my favorite BBQ and food prep folder. It’s becoming one of my favorite folders all together. I normally switch up carry folders a lot but this thing has been kicking everything else out of the pocket. People often ask what you would pick if you could only carry one pocket knife. I’ve never been able to come remotely close to answering that question. I’m not saying this is the one, but it’s closer than anything else has come. And considering I had no desire to get this knife until about a month ago, that’s saying a lot.

There have been rumours that there might be an FRN backlock Caribbean in the works. :beaming-face
The scales ars so ugly I haven't pulled the trigger in spite of loving everything else about this knife.

The secondary hand sand grooves completely change my thinking about that though. That looks great with a more usual spyder-ish pattern

v2.0 I'm in immediately.

the caribbean is definitely not my favorite knife, but if i can only carry one knife (and i'm not working out), it's my number one choice.

Thank you and yes I did it by hand, that’s why it would cost $2k 🤣 I explained the process on another thread - “Caribbean at Last”… if I bought another one it would definitely be the serrated version because of all the good reviews on it…I can only imagine as the PE is awesome!!! Welcome to the club 👊
WOW!
:fist-bump 💥 knock out blow.
BTW, If you want one you may want to buy sooner than later. They have been discontinued.
I have been smitten by the SE and its ability to aggressively cut through what ever it is being used on.
The P4 SE and the Delica 4 were the latest.

I believe only the SE versions have been discontinued, can anybody confirm or deny this? I see only the SE models named on the official Discountinued 2023 list. Were the PE versions discontinued in 2022? I cannot seem to find an official thread for 2022.

I picked an SE leaf Caribbean up last year and have (grudgingly) come to the conclusion that it is tied for the highly coveted position of ‘most used Spyderco in my collection’ with my Magnacut mule. It is bloody brilliant, but my goodness is it ugly 😂 Saying that I’m idly looking to pick up the PE in both blade shapes. The only other folder I like even half as much for work is the Manix XL. I missed out on the 4V St Nick’s sprint and am still grouching about it.

Yes only SE discontinued…but you can still find them if you search…I’m sure someone will chime in with some options…Mongo mentioned Knife Center and KnivesShipFree has them…should have no problem finding PE 👊

Actually only looking for the PE version as a future pickup so that's a relief, I can kick the can down the road further lol.

I hope that the Caribbean being discontinued is indicative of a revised version launching soon. Fundamentals of that model are great. I think the scales were unpopular and expensive to produce. Myself I’d love it with thinner blade stock and FRN scales. Everything else is beautiful about the design, for me. MagnaCut would be nice.
If it had the stiff detent my yojumbos have it'd probably be my EDC. Love the ergos, blade shape, salt construction and the edge all the way to the handle.
