Mushroom Tool
I bet this would make a great mushroom knife. I just got it, and it's beyond scary sharp. It's scary.
The bottle opener on the blade is a nice addition.

Re: Mushroom Tool
True... but in order to find this thing some mushrooms to cut, you´ll finally have to leave that table...
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Re: Mushroom Tool
I think this one would be a really good mushroom knife.

A 20+ year old post from Joyce Laituri:
"James Mattis (rest his soul) once told me about a mushroom farm in California who's harvesters actually used Civilians. The knife was ideal for separating the caps from the stems without injuring the plant (fungi?)."

Re: Mushroom Tool
My wife and I are actual mushroom farmers. She uses a VG10 Endura, a Spyderhawk in H1, and a serrated Dragonfly SE Hawkbill Salt depending on the task.
Right now I've got a scary-sharp Pac Salt 2 at work and it's been fine. Occasionally I'll switch it for a serrated Wharncliffe Endela, and it always impresses me.
Options are good!

Oops, double-tap.
Re: Mushroom Tool
I am a fan of the Tasman Salt or Spyderhawk Salt for mushrooms, but often use a mili, because it is my most frequent carry.

Weedeater saves so much time!
Re: Mushroom Tool
It's a shame there isn't a Salt version of this knife.
All SE all the time since 2017

Re: Mushroom Tool
I am a mushroom enthusiast. I confess to using opinels quite a lot - they are incredibly thin, which is really ideal for mushrooms. Spyderco doesn't have anything comparable. I also appreciate their ease of sharpening. A Centofante or Jess Horn would be good options. :)

Wow, so relieved this thread wasn't about calling our compatriot Mushroom a tool.....
Yeah probably a little too much grandad humor here.
