Serious answer is that we just use our K05 serrated kitchen knives.

Any time I need a knife while using paper plates I use my Pacific Salt LC200N. The only thing is that I have to use two plates so I don’t cut through them lol

The SE ARK is my go-to for any meat cutting on a plate. Can't beat that belly and positive blade angle for cutting on a flat surface. Mine has cut it's fair share of steaks 🙂

If I'm cutting against a ceramic plate, I'm definitely choosing something with serrations, otherwise being extremely careful not to hit the edge of a plain edge knife on the plate -- makes me cringe.

Oops. Is it not food safe?

What I've seen says that it "bonds to steel" and that prevents transfer to your food, but then all their products on their website have the "causes cancer according to California" disclaimer so probably not.
So if you don't do it in California, you're good?

I find myself using my PE Enduras for steak knives. Even my wife likes using them for steaks and other meats.

Anyone else find that they make great steak knives?

I use them more than my Wusthofs

Or what do you use from your collection for such purpose?
Bow River makes a great steak knife. Thinking about getting 3 more to fill an empty knife block so when my family of savages come over they don't ruin my good knives.

If I didn't know any better I would think they were trying to cut through the plate.

I use and have gifted the Wusthof 8-piece, 4-inch, serrated, stainless steel steak knives. Does the job, not too expensive ($130 for the set) and look good.

I like using a serrated Z-Cut or a coarse-edge Mule for food prep and eating. They stay sharp longer than my other kitchen knives. And I smile big when I use them!

I've used my Sprig as a steak knife. The Bow River, too, but I prefer the Sprig.

That’s an incredible patina! Is it really that blue, or is the camera altering the color?

Lighting and camera angle had to be just right. It typically had a more blue/grey hue. I always loved how that shot turned out though.

The Z Cuts are quite good for steak too, I was using the SE version before I started using my MagnaCut Mule so much.

Nice…the Z-Cut is a super utility knife. The introduction of the Sharpmaker made serrated edges much easier to maintain.

I will use any Spyderco in my pocket for steak if I think they are better than the knife provided. I have used both my Cru-carta PM2, and myK390 Endela for steak when the knives provided were less than acceptable. Neither suffered catastrophic failure, and the steak was delicious!
