Hi Jerome,

How do you measure that? By the pound or by the foot?

“Paramilitary 2” is a funny way to spell “Delica!” ;)

I agree… if we are talking from a user’s perspective. It’s their most popular best seller for a reason. In fact, for many reasons. The upcoming PM2 in MC is going to be the cherry on the cake, BUT … if we are talking from an engineer’s perspective the Slysz Bowie is THE ONE. Superb fit and finsh and attention to details in that one.

...It’s their most popular best seller ....

Not disagreeing, but where are we getting sales figures to back this up? Is this the case every year?

I tried to think of a really good argument against it, but I couldn’t think of one, it must be true, I’ll try a quick google search to confirm.
All the times I’ve been cut really good (good being really bad) it’s always been with a smaller size knife. And that’s not cause I’m totally ogre sized, or totally doing stuff I shouldn’t have been doing with a small knife every time.
A Stretch 2 with no hump is kind of like a lock back FRN paramilitary 2, but not really.

It's the best Jack-of-all-trades Spydie I own... I added a Maxamet recently, and I see a Magnacut in my future too...

"best" always depends on "best for what?"

...but i think there is a case to be made that the PM2 is spyderco's most iconic model.

One of their greatest knife. Top 5.

I think there's still improvements that could be made. Tip is still fragile, the G10 could be chamfered a little more...

Imo, the tanto version is the better PM2. I hate tanto usually, but Eric works on the tanto is one of the greatest work he ever made. Truly an artistic achievement and I hope he's proud of it. Best looking tanto blade I've ever seen.

About the sales numbers, I disagree. It's still an enthusiast knife. I assume the Delica is Spyderco best selling knife. Hey @Sal would be nice to have some data one day, even 10 years back. I doubt those datas are relevant nowadays.

False! The Military is the best knife Spyderco has ever made.

Once you come to know and love the Military, you’ll recoil in horror at the Paramilitary 2, because you’ll see it for what it truly is: a dwarfish, stunted, and monstrous little imitation of the real deal!

OK, that’s going a bit too far. But I do prefer the Military.

I think there is a real reason the PM2 is listed in just about any top XX Knives of all time. I just does what it does extremely well. Is it the best knife out there, hard no. Is it the best knife Spyderco makes... depends on the user and the use case. This is also a very specific group with more than average knife/steel/etc knowledge. Bolster questions the "best selling" idea. I agree. I don't know, in my short time, if I have ever seen the Spyderco answer, but I would have assumed it would be something in the economy line that was the best seller. As far as most versions, mods and youtube videos... probably the PM2 by a long shot. Crayon nailed it with "Iconic"... Doesn't necessarily mean the best, just means more visibility due to all the flavours you can get/configure, and the youtuber reviewers putting in their $0.02

All that being said, I have a 20cv with aftermarket micarta scales that will be staying in the collection. Would still like to get my hands on an XHP model as well.

First, let me say that I'm not a subject matter expert. I do have a PM2. It was the 2nd Spydie that I purchased right after the Parra 3. The PM2 is a well designed knife and should be considered by anyone wanting a blade that is close to 3.5" and a 4 finger grip handle. If you are considering a PM2 or have recently purchased a PM2 then I'm sure you will be happy with it. I know that I am.

This is my opinion based on what I like and the knives that I own.
Have a blessed day.
