Multi-tool recommendations
Hello fellow Spydies!
Can you rate or recommend multi-tool knives curently on the market? Or give me a heads up as to what to stay away from?
Appreciate it!

Try the Victorinox Swisstool, I love mine.
It's very well designed and has locking tools that you can access from the outside with no sharp edges on the handle.
If you can, play with it in the shop, you'll buy one.

The old model Leatherman super tool works best for me.I don't carry it on me though,it says in the console of my truck. If I was going to carry one EDC I would go with the Leatherman KF4

I have nine Leathermans, a Bucktool, a Schrade Tool, and a Gerber 400. Out of all of those models, I seem to carry the Gerber the most. It's the best balance of useful tools and compact size. It doesn't get in my way and it has what I need when I need it.
As far as a larger model, I actually like the Schrade Tool. The knife blade is its worst feature, but I usually have a separate knife on me anyway so that's not a huge issue.
For sheer ingenuity, the Leatherman Crunch is the winner with its locking vise-grip style jaws. I keep one in my bailout bag in my truck - for some reason it seems like it would offer the most usefulness in an emergency.
I've never handled a Vic Swisstool but everybody that has one seems to love it; I'm going to have to get my hands on one someday and try it out.
Bottom line is, Multitools are like Spydercos - I can't seem to decide what the perfect one is, so I keep acquiring them
p.s. I looked long and hard for the Bucktool 360; being out of production it's become a collector's item and is hard to find... when I finally got one, yuck. It's a real piece of crap. Avoid it.

I have a Leatherman Wave, and love it. But the Charges sound really good, titanium handles, bronze washers, new lock stuffs.
When I got my Wave, I found that the blades were hard to open, if you mash down the lock a bit (real little bit, I beat the s*** out of mine and the lock disengages on me some times) it makes it way eaisier to open.

been carrying a leatherman wave for 3 years now & i've been through a lot with it, it's my 3rd arm.
i'd recommend the new wave or charge Ti
btw, the sog power pliers & swiss tool are also fantastic tools if you don't mind a little extra bulk.
as for gerber, i found them too fragile for my use (try to rip out a broken lug from the wheel of a military hummer & you'll see )

I was EDCing a Leatherman Supertool. Very strong, very good. I used it in ways that no tool or knife should have been and it still worked well. A little on the large on the hip, and not the nicest thing in the hand but tough as old boots.
The Wave or new Ti look good. Like the one handed opening on them, not a nice as a Spydie but good for a multi tool IMHO.
Take care,
Ian

I'm very happy with my LM Pulse, it has all the tools I need and it's light enough to carry comfortably.
