Engraving

Do any of you ever get anything engraved on your knives? I took my Blue Almite Walker in today and got the USC Gamecock engraved on it. I'm sure this kills any value to the knife but I don't plan on ever selling it anyway. I guess if I do I'll have to find me a Gamecock fan now.

Never have yet......but I'm really interested in paying the Spyder Factory the $50 setup fee and having them do some laser etching in a SS Spydie. After talking to someone in sales there I was told that I can do my own design and send them the JPG of it and they can put it on the knife.

That would be cool. :)

I agree with you though about your Almite Walker. If I don't plan on getting rid of something then I do what I want with it.

You're welcome.

I guess it's like $50 for setting up, and then like $2.50 per side per knife. I can't remember if that's the right price or not so don't quote me. It's something like that though.

Just call Spyderco or email them and ask them. That's all I did and they emailed me back. ;)

As you said, no idea of what it does to the value, but don't ever plan to sell them either.

Aaron, I'm fairly sure the engraving on the blade of the Spyker, the :spyder: s showing up on the blades of some of the newer models, and the forum markings on the blades of past forum models was done with a laser. Same with the P.R.C.A. branded pieces they do and the rather spectatcular looking "all God's critters" engraving they've put on presentation pieces for a couple deserving forumites.

They sure can. Here is an example. I had 25 of these done with sequential numbering. SFO is very flexable.

Emann, let's see a pic! Too bad this was not a red almite knife.

I'll try to after I get it back. To be honest I just dropped it off two days ago to get it done but haven't had a chance to go by and pick it up yet. It was finished yesterday.

Oh, BTW, I like the idea of sequentially numbering these too.

Hopefully this works. If so here is my Blue Almite Walker with the Gamecock logo engraved. They did a great job and unfortuntely this picture doesn't do it justice as the logo isn't real easy to see in it. Maybe somebody here can edit this picture to make it look better and the Gamecock logo show more.
