Interesting scale on the Chef. I dont remember seeing that one before, who made it and what is the material? How much does it affect weight balance? Is there a liner?

Love this color combo Rick! I am actually waiting on a Manix 2 exclusive with DLC blade to throw some gray titanium scales on, and I think seeing this combo sometime back may have been my inspiration.

Funny you say that Jeff, this knife is exactly what I was debating with those Rockscale titanium scales I mentioned the other day that you replied about haha!

How come you never enter your shots in the photo of the week thread, good sir? You definitely have the hard used and well loved aesthetic down.

15V Manix was along for the ride this afternoon. Turned out to be a wildlife viewing afternoon. Did get a walk of about 2 miles in but spent most of my time watching the migrating geese. Flocks of thousands of thousands show up in the Missouri River valley each spring.

Image

Didn't get much for good pictures of the geese, only had my phone unfortunately. Will go back within the next couple days with real equipment and get some better shots.

Hmm, good eye! Thought I might not have noticed it but I just checked and luckily there’s no chipping. I think it might’ve just been some debris on the blade at the time of the photo.

Pics don't do it justice. I would not be surprised if I saw hundreds of thousands of geese today. The sound of a flock that surely numbers tens of thousands taking off is simply incredible. I don't really even like geese all that much, but the spring migration is really an incredible sight here.

It's also fun when the sandhills cranes come over. They are also amazing creatures, and the sound they make is simply prehistoric.

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
