PM2 deserves a "li'l Native". Who's with me?
Love my PM2 's and the Para 3's,
But hey guy' s, don't you think it's time for "li'l Native" sized mini PM2?
And when I'm already at it, a keychain PM2 at some point in time would be nice.
Any thoughts?
Sal?

I consider the Para 3 to be the "Li'l PM2." I consider the PM2 to be the "Li'l Military." Eventually it'll become the "Li'l Military 2."
Re: Sorry double post
The Para 3 is a mini PM2. The Para 3 LW is the closest you will get to a Little Native with out a blade and handle redesign.
The Little Native is more like a mini Shaman.
I could be wrong.
Just my take on it.

Yeah. Yes a Millitary XL is on my wishlist too.
Maybe my topic was unclear. But I go from the PM2 platform rather then the exact 3 2 1 in sizes. I was rather pointing out the platform. Thanks for your input.

Getting close to a compression lock Dragonfly.

I'd buy one. Would make a perfect 5th pocket complement to my PM2's.

Yeah, I know that the Lil Native is a "mini shaman". I just tried to point out the size but off the PM2 platform.

Re: PM2 deserves a "li'l Native". Who's with me?
I'm all for more small knives, but even though I've learned to like the P3 a little bit more than I used to, that "lil" PM 2 is already too faithful to its larger siblings. Too beefy for its size in my opinion. This is also a pattern we see within the Native line, where the Lil' Native was just too beefy for me to warm up to.
So, yeah.. maybe, if they break away from the pattern and put it on a really hard diet. But I'm not sure how thin you can go with a CL based design. Competing to dethrone the DF2 from my pocket, it wont be an easy engineering feat to get to where it has to be, that's for sure.

Thanks for your input. I have no problem with the Lil Native in size.... However I am a fan of the PM2. An would love to see a Dragon Fly sized "PM2".aicolainen wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 10:47 amI'm all for more small knives, but even though I've learned to like the P3 a little bit more than I used to, that "lil" PM 2 is already too faithful to its larger siblings. But sure, it might be some engineering to bring it to life.

Hey Mushoom,
What model is the small one on the bottom?
I've gone through the catalog and I can't find it.
EDIT: Oh I get it, photo shop.

Maybe we're talking past each other. There's several dimensions to "size", and there's nothing wrong with the length (or height) of the Lil' Native, it's just too thick to really resonate with me. Both the blade stock as well as total thickness in pocket.LetItbePM2Forever wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 11:00 amThanks for your input. I have no problem with the Lil Native in size.... The upcoming LW is said to address some of that, so I have some hope of reconnecting with the Lil', but as long as the DF2 is in the line up, any new small folder will face fierce competition from within their own ranks. I don't think the DF2 is impossible to improve upon, but it does a lot of things right with regards to my own priorities and preferences.
If a similarly sized (all dimensions) folder can be made just a touch more sturdy, loose the lock rock and have a hair more cutting edge for same size handle - it'll be hard to pass up, but I'll get by just fine either way.

Bingo.

Re: PM2 deserves a "li'l Native". Who's with me?
A keychain knife without a bias towards close would be flat out dangerous.
Keychain knives are tossed around fairly mercilessly. IMHO, only a slip joint or back lock would be reasonable.

Re: PM2 deserves a "li'l Native". Who's with me?
With a thinner blade and less wasted space at the end of the handle, I'd like that. I don't want the blade to be 0.145" thick if it's only 2.5" long.
It'd go well with a wharncliffe blade too since the blade's almost straight.
