I just bought an FRN Police 4 in K390…

….God help me!

Haha I’m stoked. Despite my enormity, the P4 is bigger than what I usually carry. And since I was purchasing a pocket lightsaber anyway, I figured the most luscious steel available would be just what the doctor ordered.

Had to share this with someone. My wife’s not really into gear (despite her having a RAD everyday carry setup).

Enjoy your weekend folks!

Awesome! :party-face
I've found the size disappears after a few days of carry. Then it feels normal sized. It doesn't ever feel small though. :beaming-face

Nice choice ! I’m hoping to see the SS new screw construction model myself. Love my G10 an older long time favorite . Hope you enjoy it ! Dan

Such a great knife.

It really does feel normal sized in pocket pretty quickly. I keep meaning to get a SE version, but some other shiny thing always gets my attention first.

I love my vg10 P4 LW. Such a sweet knife and so easy to carry.

Welcome to the club.

I’ve never carried a Police, but this particular model has tempted me. Let us know how you like it?

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Congrats!

... and I definitely know how it feels when there is no one in my "real life" I can really share with the excitement about a new Spydie ...

The Police keeps intriguing me.

I never tried a Spydie bigger than a Millie, though I actually think even more blade can never hurt.
It's just that in carry the Stretch XL or Endura are already just still short enough in pocket, but I feel any longer would be a bit too long.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Good on ya, G80.
I have the same knife, and I liked it so much I got the SE version to keep it company. The cool thing about the knife is it's skinny, so it doesn't really take up that much pocket space. Unfortunately, once you get used to the size of the Police, other knives feel like tinker toys.

Thanks for the love folks. I’ll definitely check back in with initial impressions. It should be arriving Tuesday.

Hope you like it, one of Sal's best and longest running designs. Wish they'd bring back the G-10 version.

The beast currently resides in my mailbox. I won’t be able to retrieve it for another few hours. Is there a way to fast forward time??

What a knife! When I got it last summer I wasn't sure it'd see much carry, but man, it's amazing. It carries more comfortably than many smaller blades, being so lightweight and slim in the pocket. And so capable - it cuts anything in half just by one move (ok, two for watermelon). Plus, K390 is currently my most favourite steel. This is a perfect large folder.
Congratulations and enjoy it!

I've been on the fence about buying either a Police or Endura in K390. I love my Rex45 Millie and don't find it too large to carry. Please post your impressions once you get some play time in with it!

I have a PM2 in K390, but I want to add some Seki City K390 to my stable.

I haven’t seen much improvement K390 offers over VG10 so far. Still evaluating though

Do you have experience with the Spyderedge K390? I highly recommend giving it a shot if you already have a plain edge knife in k390. My Police is a pocket chainsaw when it comes to cardboard

The Police 4 FRN is such an amazing design. It really does carry small for how large it is due to the slim construction, yet is one of the sturdiest folders I have with its full liners and tough materials. A VG-10 example was one of my first Spydercos, and remains a workhorse in my stable. I had a K390 version but it just didn’t see as much use so I moved it along. You’ve made an excellent choice. Here’s a pic of my freshly touched-up pocket lightsaber, I think I’ll take it out to play today:

No Spyderedge yet for me. I've avoided them because I love sharpening, but I despise sharpening serrated knives. I should give a SE a try one of these days, but maybe in a less expensive model.
