Too quiet on the Alistair Philips front

#1

Post by wrdwrght »

The current thread on the Kapara had me rush to the safe so I could remind myself what I so much like about it.

I’m also reminded that Sal has said other Philips models are pending, if not in the works.

Anyone else wondering what’s up?

I would like to see something or hear more about a new model myself . I have hoped a lockback model would be considered as a new model . I really like the design just doesn’t work well for me as a lefty , but really enjoy ergos in hand . MG2

Same, I’d be interested to hear about anything new from Alistair Philips and Spyderco.

This is the last update Ive personally seen from Sal (2 years ago) - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=85843&start=40#p1395308

Hi Pantagana,

It's similar. We had to make some adjustments for the Kapara and we'll do the same for the smaller version. Ali did make a 3.0" Slippie for me when I asked him to do and that's what we'll use for the lock version. We still have the slippie on for the future as it is mostly for the UK.

Cool bug.

Thanks for providing that link, Nick.

I’m hoping Sal will bring us up to speed.

Oh my, Dazen..
If there ever was a slippie design that deserved a shot at production.
If that's a <3" UK legal as is, with that handle filling blade, I'm totally sold. I'm not subject to specific lock restrictions, but I'll buy 5 anyway :)

Thanks, Alistair/Cubane. Plans for a sub-3in slippie will hold my attention.

It would also be the bomb to see the Kapara in another steel. m390/20cv/Magnacut/CruWear... Yummy!
