This isn't the only high-end knife that is currently out of stock. And Spyderco isn't the only maker with this problem. I do believe that there are big supply chain problems not only for knives but with other finished products as well as availability of materials. It's been unbelievable all the stuff that is in short supply at my local hardware store in the past 2 to 4 months.

I'm also wondering what it's like even on an international basis as well? Or is the USA the main player with supply problems?

Absolutely not USA specific. Lead times on parts and raw materials are absolutely ulcer inducing for anyone involved in planning production schedules. Especially parts containing certain quantities of plastics have been a pain for a long time now.

Got hold of Factory Store, no idea when in stock for sale, and no way to be notified when in stock.

Most companies have a "back in stock notification" system in place. All you do is to add your email to an OOS item.

EX:
Once an item is Out of Stock, there will be an option to JOIN WAITLIST available. This option will ask you to provide your email address and once the item is back in stock, it will notify you immediately. This is the easiest way of finding out if an item is in stock again.

Spend best part of day looking for tires for car. After calling, grinding face to face I order. Had I gone with one deal I would be thin $400.00, shopping pay off.
