Yeah it has rivets but some of my other knives do too.

Ladybug,
And that's absolutely ok. I still have my first Manix 2 LW with BD1 steel and like it a lot. It cuts more cardboard than you'd think and it gets wicked sharp relatively easily. My second Manix 2 LW was just like the one in the OP's picture. I gave it to my friend and he absolutely loves it, even with BD1 steel
I'm guessing that the N is added nitrogen. It will do just fine for my needs and if it needs to be resharpened,Sharp Guy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 7:44 pmAnd that's absolutely ok. The hardware would be cool.Cowboyfromhell wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 7:30 pmThe M2 LW is a great knife that is not too expensive. I love mine and it has the new screw construction!

It is ok of course, and I did not mean to spoil Mongo his purchase!
Just as the most unscientific and un-empirical experience ever:
I was not too impressed with the edge holding of my first BD1 Manix 2 LW and sold it eventually.
Then I came back to the model (actually with an translucent blue version) in BD1N about two years later and was really surprised with how good it held an edge in relation to how extremely easy it was to sharpen, even or an non-sharpening-pro like me.
This completely subjective layman impression can be due to several reasons though, does absolutely not have to mean that the upgrade in steel is really that big!!
@ Mongo: This is also not meant to "spoil" your joy with the new Manix, but I´d always be careful when buying knives at Amazon (I personally don´t at all now for quite some time now):
Firstly, they are not an official dealer for Spyderco anymore, as far as I know
Then, even if an independent dealer sells on Amazon, returns come into a "general pool" and are resold from there: So you might (just might!!) get an example someone has already returned for some flaw (perhaps just sticky action or something like that), the dealer could not check themselves and now you get the piece delivered.
So, all I am saying: Check your knife throroughly when it arrives (I am pretty sure it will be fine anyway!)
Speaking of action: The Manix 2 LW to me is a knife with a lot of variety concerning that matter, at least among the I thzink 4 pieces I had so far. Some really buttery smooth and drop shutty, some rather sticky and pretty hard to dial in (to me personally not an issue though, I don´t need "drop shutty" at all).
Just looking at the photo, it looks like a bug in Star ship Storm Troupers, in a cool sort of way
Imthink you bought a great edc . This is the first run with pinned pivot and is a great Summer knife . MG2Is it a stock photos? It looks different and I like different. Whether it comes pinned or with screws, time will tell. Thanks! editedManixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 4:42 pmImthink you bought a great edc .

Yours will certainly come with a pivot SCREW, not pin (only early iterations had a pinned pivot), just if the handle will be pinned or screwed remains to be seen...mongo1958 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 4:56 pmIt could be just a stock photo.
