Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Carried my only hawkbill (LB salt) to open some packages at the post office today.
Returned home as the owner of two hawkbills :)
My first SS Spyderco.
Very happy to finally join the club. For all its lack of practicality, the Harpy was the obvious starting point for me (for reasons long enough to derail the thread). Could even be my endpoint. Time will tell.
One related question, if anyone happens to know:
I haven’t bought a lot of Spydercos on the secondary market, and the ones I have, have been fairly new designs, so dating them hasn’t been of interest.
This one is more so. I have no idea how long it’s been in the sellers possession and the box is missing. I bought it double quick when it popped up, and didn’t notice until I received it that it only has one clip position for tip down, right hand pocket. I don’t mind it, actually think it makes it nicer. Can the lack of other pocket clip position be used to ballpark its production date?
It’s feels super solid and tight. And what a nice handle design, fits my hand even better than the Delica. Surely wouldn’t mind if this handle design came in more variations of materials and blade shapes.
Very pleased with this catch!

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
fell asleep with this one in the waistband of my pjs last night, so when i got up to get some work done, i just went with it. i've said in the past that it always surprises me how much i like this knife when i carry it, but lots of quick little repair jobs and cleaning up around the house have given me lots of opportunities to use it today and it's really been a joy.

Beautiful pic!!! - best looking manix 2 on planet Earth! The native is awesome but for me ergos are unmatched on manix (especially behind the choil grip), but w/that said can’t wait for magnacut NS
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
you're too nice. this is a special manix for me because i got it from a pretty cool dude. the background is an ivers and pond mahogany victorian upright piano that's over a century old.SaltyCaribbeanDfly wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 7:49 pmBeautiful pic!!! - best looking manix 2 on planet Earth!
