My next collaboration? :)
I look forward to it! I hope that it is excellent as the last Spyderco that you designed, the Sustain.

After a bit of a rest to get some cash saved, I'd also like to see some more Spyderco Native Chiefs. Maybe one in 15V, and one in Magnacut.

What i hope are a ton of collaborations.
With among them the new Reinhold !!!
New and refined budget models to fight against the price increases. Something like a calypso or a chinook/persian but from china.

What i think and fear will come in 2023?
Still endles lines of US Exclusives and nothing new except maybe even more Lw version of knives we already have more then enough off.

First and foremost I hope to see models released in 2022 show up in Europe.
Mainly the Swick and Subway bowie, which are some of the few knives I feel has the potential to add usability to my knife drawer.
On that note, I hope the Subway Bowie is good enough to warrant a “deluxe” version somewhere down the road. Something along the lines of canvas micarta or pakkawood scales and a low profile leather belt sheath for a more classic look and carry, and possibly magnacut for a more balanced steel to match its new clothes.

As many others, I still anticipate the magnacut Manix LW.

I’m also curious to see what the BBB collab looks like, and suspect it might pull me in.

Generally, I’m in a good spot with regards to knives, and don’t feel there is a lot missing at the moment. There’s always room for incremental improvements, but they become harder and harder to justify. Heck, I hardly have the imagination to visualize where improvements can be made anymore.
There are still some knives that appeals to my feelings, more than a rational need. Some of which are older models like the Rookie and Caly 3. Sprints or new designs in the same spirit, would be hard to resist.

Though I consider the Stretch XL ergonomically too big for my hands, there is a use case where a Salt version would make sense to the point where I probably couldn’t resist.

This may sound silly, but imo what would make a cool knife is a giant version of the dragonfly 2. Maybe scaled up to the size of a YoJumbo, in Cru Wear, and made in Golden.

That spear head blade shape’s up sweep is begging for heavy jimping for the thumb and index finger choil that only happens at the Golden factory. That huge curved handle (result of scaling up) might act similar in function to the concept of the Moosad Ayoob knife.

I think it might be an amazing new knife.
Totally with you. This has been brought up a bunch of times so does have support, usually under the proposed moniker "dragonfly XL" (in case you want to know what to search to find those threads)

If you do the skinny scale mod to the Para 3, it is pretty similar to a scaled-up Dragonfly, though obviously nowhere near a Yojimbo size. A family in different sizes would be sweet

Wouldn’t mind a sprint of the Barong or Kukri
Also I need a Police 4 salt in my life!

ETA: I’d like to see Sal and crew release a mosquito ladybug in the Byrd line called the humming byrd! How about that?

Things I’d like to see:

More k390 (specifically in Taichung and Golden)
Anything magnacut (already on the native 5 list) but I’d LOVE a magnacut Caribbean
More Crucarta
Anything sage 5 lw but specifically tool steels…cruwear, st nicks, etc.
Above all, a k390 shaman. A denim micarta shaman to complement my seki collection would be unbelievable
Crucarta: Shaman (x2), Manix 2, Lil Native, Delica, GB2 & PM2
Notable: 52100 and Cruwear Millie. “15v-arta” Shaman. REC Manix. K-carta Endura, P4, Dragonfly and Delica.
Favorites: Shaman, Sage 5 lightweight, Sheeps Caribbean, Manix, Endela and all things Stretch
