Hello Doc Dan,Doc Dan wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 11:38 pmNow, the question is, what blade style? Round point (best all around and for beginners), pointed AKA American point, Spanish point, modified Spanish point (I like this), barber's point (dangerous), or French point?
I'll take some pictures of some of mine and post them.
Okay, done. Check your inbox. I simply forwarded the other one to you.sal wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 11:32 amHi Doc,

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum.

You meant the straight razor is a lot less uncomfortable?
I meant that pushing the razor into my skin made it a lot less comfortable. With the razor just gliding across my skin, it doesn't even feel like it's cutting. I'm too used to disposables where it feels like the hair's getting yanked out.Doc Dan wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 11:53 pmYou meant the straight razor is a lot less uncomfortable?
Using those disposable razors really forces bad shaving habits on people in order to make them work properly.
Here is a video showing a Henson razor versus one of those multiblade monstrosities. You can see that all of the blades don't actually do anything but butcher your face. They don't cut at all.
Get the least expensive 5/8 Ralf Aust or Thiers Issard from The Invisible Edge in the UK. It will come shave ready and inspected. Try it, you'll love it.
