New Here!

#1

Post by Openbeerz »

Hey. I'm new to the forums, just wanted to say hi. Out of no where decided I wanted a decent knife. So I did 2 weeks of research, watching youtube videos and reading on the forums here. I decided on the para 3 and I thought for sure that was the one then I got nervous and thought maybe the manix 2 so I just bought that too. Yup something seriously wrong with me hahahah. I'm gonna try both and maybe I'll keep the one I like the most and sell the other one. I usually don't spend money like that but I got so obsessed. Hahahah. I work on the highway and go fishing in the summer so I can really use a decent knife instead of my gas station one.

welcome!

standy99 is right. you need a pacific salt with a spyderedge as well. i'm actually carrying a manix and a se pac salt today (like most days).

as far as being obsessed... you might want to stay away from the forum or it'll just get worse.

I'd be willing to bet you keep both, go ahead and get yourself a serrated Pacific Salt (my carry today) and get that one out of the way, you definitely won't be sorry! Plus you'll have three fantastic, different knives to rotate....

Welcome to the boards, go ahead and throw your wallet in the basket right here by the front door!

Welcome to the forum. You picked some good ones. Godspeed on not grabbing about 6-7 more in the next few months.

Welcome to the forum!

I recommend that you keep both knives. If you sell one or the other, you'll probably end up regretting it, and end up re-buying the same model again, anyway.

BTW, beware of all the enablers here...

Welcome!
Good luck trying to part with one of the knives once you've had a good chance to carry both of them :p

Going from a cheap knife to a para 3 is a world of difference. Spydercos always have great ergonomics and the full flat ground blades go through most things like butter. I remember the first time I cut a bag of onions open with my dragonfly. I cut through it like I'd cut with my old knife and the blade went straight through like nothing was there and embedded itself in a bag of sugar.

Welcome Openbeerz!

I agree with TKOK83Spy. I'd be willing to bet you won't be able to sell either and you'll probably add more before you know it

Welcome! Enjoy your new knives! Like others have said, you’ll probably end up keeping both/acquiring more.
