True, and Tom Moore in the Millie, PM2, Para3 FB group is always on top of the drops within a few minutes. But not all of us can hit the forum or other on line sites multiple times a day.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 12:07 pmA hot sprint run will sell out before they send you a notification. First company to make a folding knife shaped cold chisel will win.
Most people don't treat their pocket knives as a pocket knife... The way I've seen construction workers use knives, cutting things is low (I think rope is the only thing). People stab open boxes, wedge open crates, stab into shrink wrap, wedge something out of the way, scrape something etc before they actually need to cut something
Also side note, why are/were titanium pocket pry bars so popular? Kinda springy, the edge bevel blunts immediately, not as strong as steel...

And funny thing is i have seen engineers , Managers and other smart people do the same dumb things.
Re: CPM 15v Manix 2
I like the steel, but don't like the color, can it be dyed? It could be hard since it's pretty dark color to begin with, right?
Re: CPM 15v Manix 2
Me either!
I don't see the point of those things other than to take up more room in a pocket and make my wallet lighter.

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2
I feel the same. I don’t know much about dying, but you could always get aftermarket scales! People have been super psyched about AWT linerless Manix scales, but il a big fan of terotuf so I’m leaning toward fireside scales for this one.

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2
I've noticed a lot of people don't want knives, they want what I call 'knife shaped objects' or KSO's . Pointy prybars essentially. They don't really cut so much as they poke, scrape, and tear material.GarageBoy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 9:27 amFirst company to make a folding knife shaped cold chisel will win.

I like titanium prybars because I carry knives that are meant to cut things. The pry bar is for, scraping, prying, screw driving, all the stuff you shouldn't do with a knife.
There's definitely a pocket jewelry aspect to every thing in my pockets, the knives and prybars no exception. But they all get daily use. My last IT job I had to open up a lot of Laptops, those Lynch prybars are great for popping the back off of them and other stubborn device cases. They also make a decent kubaton in non permissive environments like an office.

Too many people, and I mean TOO MANY people allow themselves to know way too little about the tool their using, or they know small amounts of info and take it out of context or leave out critical information. Someone will say "oh I thought the Manix 2 was hard use rated" and snap this blade off, then blame the steel, then blame the heat treat. Some knives and some steels are purely for CUTTING and people just need to accept that this won't be any good for batonning.
As for the pry bar trend, I think they're cool but I'm too cheap to pay for all those little anodized keychain toys. One reason I love my Vic Spirit is because the center tool is extra thick to use for prying and I use it all the time without fear of mucking it up. I doubt anyone is using their fancy titanium trinkets to pry off hubcaps or open paint cans.
