I'm looking forward to this one. I remember when the G10 version came out in 2016, I was interested but never purchased one. Had I known the defensive design inputs I definitely would have bought one to try.
Well, you're in luck. It's still available at some retailers, such as DLT Trading for $211.

I got one in S30v/G10, it's fantastic. Now I really wish I had gotten one sooner. Carries flat, cuts well, feels great and is secure in the hand.

Great design, again I can't believe I missed out on 5 years of carrying and using this.

For those that have the G10 version, does it have teflon washers? I know that people like to crap on them, but I kinda like how they feel. I would go for smooth over drop shut any day.

Phosphor bronze, mine definitely doesn't drop shut, the pivot feels more hydraulic (resistant but smooth) like top-shelf knives used to.

Mine doesn’t even think about dropping shut. Fine by me.

I will say the LT3 does not readily come out of the pocket. The clip pushes deeply and firmly into the G10’s indexing divot. If you want this one for SD, make retrieval part of your practice.

Congrats on getting one. The LT3 is a solid model that unfortunately got overlooked when it was in production. Personally, I pretty much stopped carrying my Shaman, Sage 5 LW, Para 3, & Manix 2 for EDC once I got the LT3 (I still use them for variety at work, though). The LT3 basically supplanted all my compact & "hard use" S30V models for daily carry. The only other S30V knives I carry these days outside of work are the Yojimbo 2 & the Yojumbo.

I bent the clip out a little to relieve some of the pressure and it works great. It was like trying to pull a small alligator off my pocket.

I bend the clip slightly on almost every knife I carry.

How would you recommend tuning the clip - remove the clip from the knife and put the tab with the holes in a bench vise? Is there a better way?

Thanks!

Hi Ferruginoous,

I usually take something wedge shaped and slide it under the clip a small amount at a time until I get the bend I like. Not everyone will like the same bend so incremental bending works best. I like very little resistance in retrieving my knife from my Right-Front-Pocket. Just enough to keep it from falling out of my pocket. YMMV.

It has four bronze washers. I polished washers in mine and action is much better but still more close to back lock knives than PM2. You need to shake blade to the handle with wirst.

With the clip on, I often slide some cardboard under and lift gently, checking frequently on progress.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

You're welcome & thanks for reading. I'm really looking forward to the SE version of the LT3LW as well, I like using serrated VG-10 & serrated LC200N for my work knives as an alternative to high hardness, ultra-high wear resistance powder metallurgy steels in plain edge.
