spyderco identify

#1

Post by austinblades »

Hi Guys, I'm having a little trouble identifying these Spyderco knives. Can you all shed any light on these, they were in a very extensive collection that we recently purchased. The second one from the bottom is a mystery as the clip is on the opposite side of most frames I can find. Any help would be appreciated dearly in identifying these knives.

Second photo, top to bottom: Almite C01S Worker, C05P Economy Standard, C01P Worker (2 screw clip - that's important), stainless C51P Rookie, the last one I don't recognize.

The last two photos are a AGSP-2SS Baby Jess Horn on the left and I think a C05 Standard on the right, but the blade shape looks wrong for anything I'm familiar with.

The last one in photo 2 is either a Domino or a Dice, with what look to be custom stainless scales. Also looks to have been sharpened + used. My money would be on a Domino.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Domino or Dice was my guess as well, but the stainless scale threw me.

Could be.
  • I don't see Eric's maker's mark on the back of the blade.
  • The brand and steel on the front of the blade are accurate.
  • The hardware looks pretty real.
  • The finish on the back side looks off. I think it's a bead blast finish on the real deal, and this looks satin. The again, it also looks like this guy liked his stainless steel Spydercos a lot, and perhaps he went through a great deal of effort to get his Domino to match.

Every picture I can find of a Spyderco Domino in a google image search has torx screws on both sides of the pivot. The pictured one only has one on one side. On the RIL in the pictured "Domino", there's a hole drilled in the lock bar. None of the pictures of them that I find have that either.

In addition to the points raised above regarding the Domino, on mine the jimping on the lockbar insert is visible from the show side.

Also, the size of the clip screws and scale screws are the same in the OP's photo, whereas they are different in my BBS exclusive and blue weave CF variants.
