Spyderco Drunken Discontinued?

#1

Post by TomahawkT10 »

Hello,

Does anyone know if this knife is still in production. One website in Europe is showing it as "Discontinued", but on Spyderco's Website it just shows as "out of stock".

Does anyone know for sure what it's status is and is it still be produced?

Thanks

Just saw this on Facebook...

It's not in the 2021 discontinued list. The 2022 list should come out before the year ends, but only Spyderco management is privy to the details of said list.

Some US stores like KnivesShipFree and CutleryShoppe still have it in stock if you want one right now.

Yeah it’s expensive but if you ever get your hands on one, you’ll understand the price. It’s a very nice knife!

It seems like batches of the knife have been few and far between and the opportunity to acquire one has been limited. I hope it doesn’t get discontinued just yet but I won’t be surprised if it is discontinued this year.

I believe the OP cares since he posted. I'm guessing you haven't handled a Drunken? You're entitled to your opinion, but it's easy to just scroll past the question. ;)

Not that I like ordering knives from Amazon, but it is on there from Deadwood Knives which I believe is legit.

In stock at Knife Center too.

The milling on the CF scale of the Drunken is next level. The Shiro next to it here was about twice the price of the Drunken and isn't as nice IMHO.

The milling on the lock side is equally well done.

Not that I’m in the market for a Drunken, but at least I can confirm that Deadwood Knives is safe to order from. I’ve used them direct and on the ‘Bay.

The Drunken is a phenomenal knife! I wish it came with a Ti hourglass Spyderco clip, but other than that it is perfect. I’ll easily compare it to my CRK.

I LOVE the drunken. I handled one at st nicks in Florence before they closed that location. Talk about drool worthy. Still would love to snag one but the price always throws me for a loop. Maybe I should just sell my xm-24 to fund one, or do a trade + cash. Although I doubt anyone would bite on a trade but you never know...

I do love my zt 0456cf, and the drunken is similar, but it's not the same. Similar, but different.

Really is! I never knew they were that similar. That's a great version of the Inkosi he has...I am slightly jelly of that one!

OP here. I managed to find a drunken in stock in Europe. Everywhere else is sold out. Prices are so high over this side of the pond, but I didn’t want to miss out! Now I have it in hand it’s extremely nice. My new favourite in my collection. Count yourselves lucky that in the USA you have so much choice and special editions. In Europe we are lucky to find basic models in stock and they are always 15-25% more expensive.
