Forgot to add in my last post. If you want to see a gun in action or hear his opinion on a select gun, youtube hickok45. Search the gun your looking at.

Hes pretty good in my opinion.

If I remember right, his EDC knife is or was a Spyderco Delica
Yeah, ole hickok45's a dandy

Years ago I had a 4 inch Model 28 and loved it . I took the grips to a German custom cabinet maker in town . He had a prosthetic leg and asked him if he could duplicate the right side like the left side thumb rest . He told me had not touched a firearm since WW2 and he lost his leg in the battle of Moscow . I was terribly upset that I brought up so much pain in his life . He smiled at me and told me to come back in a week . When I stopped in the the grips were identical , he refused to charge me , said he did it to help a young man in need . It was my sidearm for armed security work . I will never forget his kindness . He told me he was left behind during the battle and a Russian woman saved his life keeping him warm in a barn until he was found . His work was impeccable. We had in our area exGerman soldiers move to central Illinois. I worked with three of them at Cat . It was interesting to hear from the other side their experiences . Some very sad .

Wow Dan, I'll bet that was so interesting to listen to those guys. Reminds me of a friend of my dad's. He was in WWII as well. He was also in a German Prison Camp (POW) - he said he would've starved to death had he not been a Mason. One evening he flashed a sign and lo and behold the German Officer was a Mason as well. He then kept him alive on potato peelings. He further said he had nightmares about what the Russians did to the Germans at the close of the war. Man, you gotta know it went down like that too. Aa many millions upon million of Russians that the Germans killed during WWII, there was a true hatred the Soviets had towards the Germans.
I often wonder how things would've turned out had Hitler not used up so much time and effort on trying to take Moscow. I don't think people realize just how many Russians died during WWII.
Oh, one other thing. Another WWII vet that we knew, told us that the there has never been a finer Soldier than that of the German Soldier of WWII.
Now, don't take that the wrong way. What he meant was the overall appearance and attitude- and they would fight like ****, never give up - he said they were just amazing.
