Well All,

I stand corrected. We made a stainless Delica in 1996 with AUS-6 blade steel. We called it the Delica II and gave it a new number, C43. We quickly realized that to give a new name and a new number was a bad call and made adjustments on the following run. My apologies.

Thanx much for calling me on it.

How did your wife break the tip off? Just curious.

I don't know... probably using it as a screwdriver or trying to pry something.

I didn't ask, I knew that might not end well.

Delica II is still shown in the 1997 catalog with AUS 6.

https://catalogs.z6.web.core.windows.ne ... co1997.pdf

And 1998, when the Endura II (SS) was introduced.

https://catalogs.z6.web.core.windows.ne ... co1998.pdf

And 1999: https://catalogs.z6.web.core.windows.ne ... co1999.pdf

Delica SS and Endura SS are still listed as AUS 6 in the 2000 catalog:

https://catalogs.z6.web.core.windows.ne ... dealer.pdf

Still listed as AUS 6 in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005:

https://catalogs.z6.web.core.windows.ne ... dealer.pdf
https://catalogs.z6.web.core.windows.ne ... dealer.pdf
https://catalogs.z6.web.core.windows.ne ... dealer.pdf
https://catalogs.z6.web.core.windows.ne ... dealer.pdf

Finally switched to VG10 in the 2006 catalog:
https://catalogs.z6.web.core.windows.ne ... co2006.pdf

Model number were corrected from C43 Delica II and C47 Endura II to C11 Delica II (still not SS) and C10 Endura II (still not SS) in 2000. :thinking Names not changed to Delica SS and Endura SS until 2003.

Thanx Brian.

Maybe you need to help me write the "new" Spyderco history book?
