No, not for knives because.. well, my other stuff is IWB.vivi wrote: ↑Sun Sep 04, 2022 7:31 pmyou ever try iwb? pocket depth isn't an issue that way. I also find it more comfortable than front pocket carry.Caz wrote: ↑Sun Sep 04, 2022 6:10 pmSince I want the largest but most comfortable carry, that means that the majority of my knives are around the 3 inch mark unless I start wearing jeans with deeper/wider pockets. For example, a Stretch 2 is positively uncomfortable in any pant pocket for me, I love that knife but I cannot carry it unless wearing a jacket. An Endura is doable but sticks out vertically (as opposed to the pocket hogness of the Stretch 2). So those are nixed due to the comfort issue.

maybe try it wherever the other goods aren't? e.g. behind your hip if your glock is appendix carry.
May you find peace in this life and the next.
Re: Next Possible Sprint Run, Let's Talk?
Yeah, I will just have an awful lot of stuff on my waist and it gets hard to conceal when waist is relatively small. If I start moving things around then I have to relearn where they are. It seems better for me to have pocket knives in my pockets and everything else IWB/OWB.
The only place I can think to put a knife would be SOB and from a defensive point of view, I’m much slower on getting to items when placed there which it why that was deemed a no go for the firearm.
However, having too much around the waist is still better than carrying off body (ie in a purse).
Thanks for the ideas
P.s. Glock? Ewwww. Lol

Well your very last sentence goes without saying when it comes to several of Spyderco's models that are deemed "unusual" by most of the knife hobby community.Evil D wrote: ↑Sun Sep 04, 2022 4:09 pmJD Spydo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 04, 2022 3:55 pmI'm still with you on that one Bro. I just know in my gut that would be like having a mini-chainsaw in your hand. A full SE version of the ULIZE would cut rope and cordage like a laser. With that blade design on a full SE blade you would always have the advantage of an aggressive "Angle Of Attack".
The more I think about it a full SE ULIZE would make a great blade for potential emergency situations. Even if the serrations are similar to the ones on the new C-60 Sprint Run.
These two models are like distant cousins. They have quite a lot in common with each other, and I'd say if I could only have one it would definitely be the Ayoob, but I still think there is a massive potential for a full SE recurve (aka, a not-reverse S shaped blade). The Ulize is also another super weird looking design like the Ayoob that really needs to be held and used to fully appreciate and understand. They're both on the far end of the forum following function spectrum and I think they both got overlooked by most people because they just look weird.

You can list the Dodo, Spyderhawk, SPOT, Swick, and about a dozen other well known Spyderco models that are truly very functional despite their unorthodox appearance.
It is extremely interesting when you compare the C-60 Ayoob and the ULIZE next to each other. Both models have their own unique persona that few understand.
I'm convinced that a full SE version of the ULIZE could sure change many attitudes concerning Spyderco's fully serrated models. I'll take "function" over "aesthetics" any day of the week. I've had a couple of friends recently literally make fun of and say derogatory remarks about my Dodo model But if I had to pick a really short blade to EDC the Dodo would be my immediate first pick.
A ULIZE in full SE is to be added to this growing list. Along with the JD Smith, Rookie, big Calypso ect. But I still encourage everyone to continue their suggestions for their favorite Old School Spyderco model.

Superhawk or Ulize are the ones I'm hoping for a revival!

Kiwi in polished, contoured g10. Chestnut bone would be great, but I’m guessing that won’t be remade.
Re: Next Possible Sprint Run, Let's Talk?
Calypso or Rookie in any steel. Love the design!
Recent favourites: Massad Ayoob CPM CRU-WEAR PE & SE, Yojimbo 2, Lil' Temperance 3.

Joe , a comparison of Ulize and a Police would also put it into perspective. I not degrading the Ayoob shot just thought another comparison would be helpful . MG2

Kiwi Salt.
Re: Next Possible Sprint Run, Let's Talk?
A Maxamet Lil' Native compression. Regular or wharncliffe.

If we spent as much time trying as we do doubting, we might have already accomplished it.

I’m still cheering and hoping for the c54 calypso to be re-sprinted with the old school flat pivot pin and smooth contoured black linen micarta handle scales, I’m not too particular with what steel the blade would be, I tend to think the high carbon Japanese steels are my personal favorites.

Re: Next Possible Sprint Run, Let's Talk?
I’ve been wanting a sprint of the Sumio Sakai-designed C17 Catcherman filet knife (it last appeared as an exclusive in 2011) NOT with the original integral FRN clip but with removable clip instead. But changing the mold is probably a non-starter, and so, too, would be the cost of G10 in place of FRN, or so I imagine.
Anyway, Sal saying in this thread that he’s “working on a 4.0" caly 3.5, which I believe will be more refined than the C54” (more?!) reminds me that I’d rather have new models than sprints.
