Anything other than a Native in SPY27. I really like that steel but can’t make the Native work for me.
Might be a good opportunity to offer the top 5 Spyderco’s in SPY27 as a new 100% Spyderco line. Spyder scales + Spyder steel, made in Spyder City USA. I got dibs on the first Dragonfly2!
If they made a G10 Manix XL in spy27 then they could sign me up immediately!
Depending on the price i would even get a dubbel.

Yup, I might buy all of the models offered in Spy27… if they offered them. I’ve read that Spy27 has super steel properties without the super steel sharpening difficulties. I know the Native that I tried was crazy sharp and not flimsy thin like some other steels.
They could also have a base line (FRN) and a fancy line (G10), all in SPY27. No fancy steel, just SPY27. They could let us pick our clip as a treat in order to market the 100% Spydie line. Either do the top 5 models in FRN as pilot run or pick top 3 and offer FRN and G10 for each. See how it goes for sprint, then reassess to determine if feasible for new permanent line. It would be awesome. Just sayin.

Good point! Well we have the Manix 2 , para 3 , native 5 frn versions already i find it is time to expand those to g10 and get other models a version as wel. I really want to try the steel but i do not want to spend my limited funds on Frn’s , i want to spend it only on linered G10 in a fancy blue/green mix color !
I still consider myself a newbie in the Spyderco world. But from what I've read about previous models that are highly desired and CURRENT EASILY AVAILABLE STEEL at manufacturing locations here's what I think. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
1. The Caly 3 was made in Japan just like the current Caly 3.5 is now.
2. K390 is being used in several evergreen models made in Japan and selling very well.
Conclusion: Given the legendary reputation of the Caly 3, making it in K390 would result in a super hot seller. The 3.5 would be a decent compromise.
Tell me why this is or isn't a good idea. Thanks in advance.

Yup, there are all kinds of options that they could choose. Some folks can only afford the FRN or they like it better than G10. Personally, I don’t care for G10 but I really like the thin FRN that’s used on the base chaparral version. Options are good. Variety is the spice of life!

I get youre opinion personally i am also not a fan of spyderco’s g10 slabs either ( Its always the same black, grey or funky strange burned orange )but i am hopelessly in love with the platform of the linered g10 knives because i need them. i take off the scales and buy custom scales from all kind of materials in there place. Those completely change the knife from a great production knife to an insanely awesome mid tech! Now i am also not a well funded man ( Definitely not since i am renovating my house ) so it takes me allot of time to buy one and customize it but its more then worth it.
Wish they would make the frn knives also linered (they could even be insanely milled out to cut the weight) It would cut my costs allot since frn’s are cheaper the there g10 variants.
I think it would be cool to have a SPY27 Sprint Run across the Golden Models. Similar to the Rex45 sprint run. Blue G10.
i'd rather see these in production, personally. start replacing s30v with spy27. i know it's more expensive, but it wouldn't be as bad if they order enough of it to start phasing it in as a standard offering on a larger scale.

But then it would come in black G10.
I want Blue G10.

Moki is the factory that makes the Caly 3/3.5 - not the same factory as the seki city knives (G. Sakai) - which makes the Endura/Delica line
