Endura ? Delica - update - Need input

Well Alex, the Endura handle could probably be reshaped, as in the attached picture, to look pretty much like that of the Assist. Whether it would sell as well as the current style is a whole different story. Not sure if the glass breaker could be included, as I think that it works in conjuction with the rounded front end of the Assist blade. Not my cup of tea, but kind of neat.

Sal - Opinions for the forum are great to have but I wouldn't think you as the owner would want to change your best sellers. You could be taking a gamble on changing the best when you know it sells. If the public doesn't like the change then where do you pick up your best revenue. If I did have to change anything this is what it would be:
1.) The clip - make it like the Ltwt.Calypso Jr.
2.) Larger thumb hole
Everthing else is good. Great steel - flat ground - lightweight handle that grips well in the hand and a price point that sells well.
If there are major changes such as no grind lines & thumb serrations would this also change on the SS version. If not how will it effect sales between the two?
Try not to change too much...if it aint broke don't fix it!

I have been thinking alot on this and the bigest thing I would like to see is the rear of the scale reshaped like a pre 98 with a clip set up like the calypso jr.This would get rid of the problem of the clip well getting ripped out by the clip rotateing.

Well, first suggestion -- tinker carefully. Endura/delica seem to be dangerously close to perfection.

Still...
1) Full flat ground.
2) Different hanle colours (olive drab, not-bright blue, something shining bright -- yellow or red for oundoorsmen).

Tough (and dangerous) to mess with your bread and butter. But...better guard; slightly bigger lip and/or deeper finger hole, something that really locks the index finger from moving. The current guard is too much a gradual curve. Also some directional teeth on the hump (like a file), so the thumb can press forward hard without sliding. Maybe add a tiny bit of length to butt end of the handle, round the blade side, and use the extra length to add a bent over, tapered extension to the clip that would really lock it into the handle, for those who don't like the slight rotation of the clip. Sort of like a Gerber EZ-Out, but at the clip end, not side.

Perhaps for a variant, instead of a remodel, a slight bowie like curve from the hump to the point. I have a cheap Chinese Delica ripoff that I picked up at Big Lots (liquidation store) out of curiosity that is the POS that I expected, but has a subtle curve to the blade that is unexpectedly appealing. If I can get an image I will, or I'd happily mail the thing to Sal if he asks.

I like flat ground blades, too, but I'm not sure if it's appropriate for the Delica/Endura or not. I know I'd carry my Calypso, Jr. more if it was tip up carry. Maybe that's why it didn't sell that well.

6. Foldover Stainless clip like Darrel Ralph option for lower carry.
7. TORX fasteners for total disassembly.
8. Pivot bushing.
9. Size of the Endura should not change.
10. Laser Engraved trademark on clip
11. Go with TORX on clip instead of Phillips.
12. If using G-10, full recessed skeletonized dual liners.

Man, that sounds more like a bigger Lil' Temperance with some tweaks than a new Endura. Mostly good ideas though!

i like Paul's ideas on the shape of the scales. I don't like Cobra Hoods or wire clips - so i wouldn't vote for them. I'd add ridges on the thumb choil. I think the three-screw tip up/tip down clip is so far aesthetically superior to what i call the "budget" clip, if all of this is truly up for grabs I'd vote for the three-screw clip in a heartbeat. It's interesting to read all of the praise for these knives; makes me want to revisit them, maybe own one again. I sold them years ago and never gave them another thought. I really like the spyder web pattern on the scale of the Native, If you are going to do a sprint run then g-10 in desert khaki, steel blue, tomato soup red.....just some thoughts,

Hi Sal ! Concerning the Endura - Pacific size hole , deeper choil, and while you are at it a Carbon Fiber run like the Police and Delica which I proudly own ! Why mess with a beautiful blade design but you can twist my arm a go to S30V !

I agree with suggestions posted earlier:
Full torx fasteners throughout instead of non-adjustable rivet pins, including on the pocket clip.
