Re: 2022 M.L.B.
I just read a quote from a Cardinals fan that said "Trade your closer in August...said no winning GM ever". Sadly, it makes sense. Frustrating.

Re: 2022 M.L.B.
Oh, and they got swept by a bad team, with their three best pitchers starting. It was looking good after the All Star break, but it's looking very grim now.
Re: 2022 M.L.B.
They've lost 5 in a row to the Pirates now, after we were something like 8-1 against them earlier in the year. This is just sad at this point!
As the Cardinals just walked it off in their game

My friend who's a Cardinals fan just texted me that the Brewers are a Pontiac Fiero in the world of Ferrari's hahhaha.

Re: 2022 M.L.B.
The Crew got swept by the lowly Pirates. The series was like a recurring nightmare. It had nothing to do with the trade. Do you guys even watch or listen to the games? Pittsburgh beat us fair and square. Last night, Devin Williams gave up his first run in 30 games. Today, the same guy walked us off against Bush, after we stranded 3 in the top of the 10th. It ain't all about the Hader trade...
Re: 2022 M.L.B.
I only watch by using ESPN gamecasting. Unless they play the Mets, Yankees or sometimes WGN plays Cubs games and the few random other games they get. So in all I get to see about 10 games a year. I rely on those dots and stats.
I think the moral in the clubhouse is down, saw a brief interview with William's the other day saying something like "we have questions" regarding the trade.
I couldn't imagine being in 1st place and trading away a major asset and weapon that nobody wants to face in the 9th. Yes, I get it and also think it could work out long term. But why ruin something that's already going well, besides that recent slump he had.

Re: 2022 M.L.B.
Hader is a one inning pitcher. Twice a week, usually. In a year and a half, he's set to make 15 million. I like Josh, he came up with us. Since 2017, he's proven he's really good. For 1 inning. 15 million? That ain't gonna happen in Milwaukee, or on most teams in the league.

I think it has dampened the morale of the team, and I know it has dampened the morale of the fan base. Not the trade, necessarily, but the return, and the general direction.

Re: 2022 M.L.B.
Yup.....a 5 game series with the Mets in New York began last night. They jumped on us hard with 5 runs by 4th inning. ATL tried to come back but, eventually lost 6-4.
This is where the loss of Freddie Freeman will really show. Had we had #5, we may very well came back and won that game. Olson went 0-4 and is batting .249
Freeman is with the MLB best record Dodgers and is batting .324
....neeed a man say more?
That's over said & done with though. His agent really screwed him over & the Atlanta front office couldn't pic up the phone and have Chipper call Freddie at the very least just to be 100% sure about the last deal they offered......oh well. What could've been.....

We have now won last 8 out of 9 games , somebody pinch me . I’m still not convinced, Wainwright is running out of steam but still has his wits . Re: 2022 M.L.B.
The New York Mets are really playin some ball right now. They just took 4 outta 5 from the Braves this weekend. Gonna be a heckuva N.L. Championship Series between the Mets & Dodgers
At least that's how I see it comin down.
If I had to pick, I would have to go with the Mets. I think the Mets just may win it all this year.

Who knows , it has a big possibility of being a subway series if Yanks get everyone back off IL . DanMacLaren wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 8:22 pmThe New York Mets are really playin some ball right now. I dunno man, they just looked unbeatable this weekend. I was suprised the Braves won 1 of the 5 games to be honest. Like you say though, and especially with baseball, who knows.
Re: 2022 M.L.B.
Yanks got spanked this weekend, was really hoping this weekend would be when they got it back together haha. Them and the Mets heading in opposite directions!
I do feel pretty fortunate to watch Judge and Alonso play on a nightly basis though

Yes with a third of season to go anything can happen good and bad for a team . We all have seen this happen and what makes baseball so interesting to follow . Re: 2022 M.L.B.
Judge finally came out of his mini slump yesterday to make the game more fun . The Sunday game was over four hours with so much hitting on both sides . It was like old American League baseball . I thought my wife was going to have a breakdown ! Dan

Re: 2022 M.L.B.
You are man
Rick, have you been to the new Yankee Stadium & Citi Field? I would love to go to either. Well, especially Yankee Stadium.
I feel so fortunate to have seen the Braves & Yankees play at Turner Field in 2012. That was Chippers last season & we wanted to see him play. We actually went twice that year. The 2nd time we went we saw the Mets. But, seeing the Yanks was the big thrill! There were quite a few Hall of Famers on the field that day. Nothing like watching it in person. Those guys are so darn smooth.....
