If my wife ever finds out I'm dead. The last on my list will be a Shaman. I just want one in a steel I don't already have so it may be a while before I get my hands on one.
That's a heck of a month Harpo!
Welcome to the forum... You're going to fit right in!
Thanks for the welcome! I've always bought mainly budget knives. Then I purchase a Benchmade Bugout and that started me down this rabbit hole.

I'm just getting into free hand sharpening so I'm using all my budget knives as guinea pigs. This is definitely going to take a lot of practice to build that muscle memory. Fortunately, I have several guided sharpening systems to fall back on if need be.

Anyway thanks again for the welcome and I look forward to learning from the experience on this forum.

Yeah right! We've heard that a few times. I've said it myself a few times. You're not fooling anyone here ;)
I know but it sounds good when I hear myself saying it!

Aqua Salt SE is en route. I’m a little concerned the handle might feel cramped for my grip, but it’s worth rolling the dice on..

I used to have my knives shipped to my workplace, which was a bar. I was attempting to hide my purchases from my girlfriend at the time.

Ordered a couple Ayoob's and the SpyderEdge K390 Endura from M&D Tactical on Wednesday Night. The shipping label was created the same night and they left the USPS Regional Facility on Thursday. Tracking says they'll show up Monday. :grin-big eyes

Saw one today, MUCH nicer than I would have thought. If I weren't set on getting a Lil Matriarch, I probably would have pulled the trigger. f you haven't already picked it up, you are gonna love it!

Swick 5. I wasn't terribly interested in it until I read in the latest Byte about how Fred Perrin developed the finger hole while he was doing scaffolding and rigging work, so he could tie knots and such without putting the knife down. It sounds like it could be brilliant and I'm excited to try it out.

Nice!
The finger hole is something I didn't even know I needed until the Swick came along! It's great for multitasking.
Now I need a K390 Wharie Dragonfly2 with a SpydieHole big enough for my finger!
A K390 Swick-Fly!

Hmm… Makes me wonder how it would be for a fishing knife. You could still hold on to it and have all your fingers free to tie knots, and then have it ready for cutting line again. I mainly am cutting line in an “edge in” hold. I wonder how the Swick is in that grip.

In principle it should work just as well for fishing knots, but only use will tell for sure. USPS says I'll have it in a couple of days so I'll experiment with it a bit and put something up in the Swick review thread.
