Thank you, I went out for a walk this morning and all of the Chicory is just bursting with blooms! The Chaparral is my favorite folder I've ever owned so far and quite fitting for this photo.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Lately I’ve switched around my carry way more than I typically do. I’m in the middle of my summer vacation so that plays a big part; any given day may bring on lots of different activities and going from one to another may bring about a change in outfit and / or knife.
Been a lot of outdoor/fishing and electrical upgrades in the garage and outside space, but when I really use my knives I tend to forget about taking photos.
Mainstays lately have been Native salt and Waterway for fishing and Maxamet P3 for renovation/electrical work.
Today was a slower day, just changing out some appliances in the kitchen and minor electrical work as well as assisting my son with a little invention he’s working on. Quite a deviation from the typical carry of late:
Sharpening break on the beach:
A rare occurrence, remembering to include the knife after a catch:

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
i went to smkw today for the first time. that place is a madhouse. i got to handle some spydies for the first time though!
rockjumper: i liked it way more than i even expected. i was also able to compare it to the salt 2 wharncliffe. i really hope we get to see a rockjumper salt.
stretch 2 xl: very nice. i didn't feel any wobble in the copy i held. i didn't test it hard, but it felt as solid as my pac salt at least. i also hope for a salt version of this one.
smock: the ergos were exactly as i thought they would be. not my favorite, but a nice knife anyway and very smooth.
ukpk salt: oh man... definitely getting one of these soon. the green and yellow were both nice, but the ergos and negative blade angle are really where this model shines for me.
sage 5 lw: this knife is like mary poppins. practically perfect in every way. next time i need a knife smaller than my manix, i will get the sage 5 lw. i really liked it a lot.
the salesman definitely tried to tell me about the knives. i appreciated his effort, but i had to fight hard not to give him the ron swanson treatment...
he stopped trying to tell me about them when i pulled out my customized manix to check how the sage fit in my pocket.
carry for today: manix 2 m390 and pacific salt se h1

LB, I went there last year and had a similar experience. It is a tourist trap for sure, but they have everything! It's huge!

I had a very poor experience ordering from SMKW and decided never again, glad you got to go and handle some new stuff though! I'm really glad to hear the positive feedback on the Sage 5 and the Smock since they are both on my radar for future purchases, they both look very appealing.ladybug93 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 6:33 pmi went to smkw today for the first time. that place is a madhouse. i got to handle some spydies for the first time though!

I love the composition and the interplay of colors in Fly Fishing Rick's Chaparral photo.

Sage 5 = Native 5 with compression lock = almost the perfect knife.
