K390 Shaman

#1

Post by Big_Tex »

Dear Sal and Eric,

1. Spyderco makes amazing knives
2. I absolutely love k390
3. I absolutely love the Shaman
4. Therefore, my letter to Santa this year is for a k390 Shaman!

Any chance the elves at the Golden Branch of the North Pole could make that kind of knife magic come to life anytime soon?

Yes please. In Green Canvas Micarta.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Im thinking BHQ has dibs on that color Micarta. But who knows.

And I would never say no to a K390 Shaman.

Like everything else, make it in SE and you've definitely got my attention. I really like how big and wide the serrations on my DLC/S30V Shaman are, and I'm looking for another knife to play with the K390/SE combo. I'd order this one today.

Funny enough, I just mentioned this in the other Shaman thread. DLC and K390 is a match made in heaven. I just ordered the M4 DLC Shaman and would also love to see a REX45 DLC as well. I got a couple corrosion spots on my REX Shaman but it’s a user and not a sock drawer knife. I love the REX 45, I am sure I will love the M4 and think the K390 Shaman is a no brainer for me with DLC. I still wish I had the Z-wear Shaman. Maybe I will pick one up on the secondary market unless my dreams of a Magna Cut or LC200N Shaman come to fruition. Please, pretty please some official Spyderco Titanium Shaman scales!!!! A Titanium/Magna Cut or Titanium LC200N Shaman would make me lose my $#!+

Is there a possibility of a RIL titanium handle version? Perhaps the controversial “Nub” can be a flippper tab so there will be no complaints (hahhahahahhah, wishing the impossible)

As I understand, it’s a scale and steel combo. Bhq doesn’t get dibs on the micarta unless it’s paired with m4.

I think that Spyderco should make a standard production Cru-carta Shaman in a similar manner how they did the PM2 before shooting for k390.

Love this idea, it’d be my first Shaman for sure!

Right, from what I know K390 would be a perfect choice for the (I think) thinner blade of the "racing" Shaman...
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

If I was a betting man, I’d say we are going to see one in Ranger green at BentoBoxShop first. They had the first and so far only K390 in a Golden model, right?

Ranger-green G10 and K390 would get my money.

While I'd love that, I don't know that it's likely anytime soon. They just restocked their K390 PM2 and Para 3 exclusives, and it kind of seems like a small shop. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of his capital is spoken for right now.

I get what you're saying and do kinda agree. But I'm holding out hope. Like you said, he just restocked his PM2 and Para3, so Spyderco might've been working with K390 in Golden recently. Combine that with the recent Shaman drops, would make this the ideal time for it to happen. Or at least in the next couple months. They may even be in QC right now. Wishful thinking I know.

Absolutely in for this. Also in for a lc200n or magnacut and the racing version if the blades are interchangable. These are about the only knives left on my want list.

I would really like to see the 67 HRC heat treat of the seki models vs the 64 HRC that the golden k390 has been. But I'll take what I can get.

I've been trying to advocate for this idea for a while. If I remember right, last I heard from Sal about it he said he felt like a dealer would eventually order an exclusive in it. I even went so far as to email a few and mention it would be a great idea.
