Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
I need to add one more to that list.aicolainen wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 2:24 amOne week into a 3 week road trip/camping vacation. Quite a few spydies came along. There was no intentional plan to bring only spydies or to find excuses to bring as many as possible. Just packed what seemed practical and it has worked out great so far.
EDC: DF2 salt SE
Glove box/on the go food prep: pac salt SE
Swim shorts: Ladybug salt HB SE
Food kit: Spydiechef
Fishing kit: Native 5 salt PE
Camp kit: Waterway
Edit: Surprise knife: Salt 2 H1 PE
Kids summer gifts: 2 x Manbug (Their first folding knives. So happy and so proud!)
Went through the glove compartment this morning, in search of a tick remover and stumbled across my Salt 2 H1 PE that had been missing in action for a long time.
As much as I hate ticks, I’m glad something positive came out of it.

Thanks,my friend!
But I actually never had any "real" symptoms. Just a bit of headache and perhaps a hint of a husky voice. Not worth mentioning. Still, since positive, I had to go in quarantine.

- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Thanks my friend!
In my case Covid happened to be pretty much nothing. Lucky me.
/ And actually I am headed to the mountains tonight! - Some work (certainly also for the Stretch XL) on a hut, but also lots of spare times for hiking and hanging out up there (guess I´ll stay two or three days)

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
It always helps when the angle and lighting is just right to really show the patina on the grooved micarta. I was pretty happy with how this one turned out. I'd love to try to take some pics of this knife for the calendar contest, but custom scales aren't typically chosen.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
i'm going to keep entering, but i've basically given up on understanding what they're looking for. over the last two years that i've actively been following the contest, there have been some photos chosen that really surprised me. i'm fine with not being picked, but some of the photos are just objectively not good. i suppose that doesn't matter though... if that's how spyderco wants to represent their own products, it's 100% up to them.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 18, 2022 8:17 amIt always helps when the angle and lighting is just right to really show the patina on the grooved micarta. i kind of wish that i was on the team for choosing photos for the calendar, even if it meant i forfeited a chance at getting a photo in the calendar. instead of having a contest with rigid rules, i would just keep an eye on the forum all year (like i already do, and like a moderator should be anyway) and choose photos that people are already posting that meet the criteria. that way, you don't have randos jumping in just for the contest and you encourage forum involvement, but you also encourage everyone that is already taking pictures for fun to try and step it up a little because you never know what will be chosen. i bet i could go through just this thread right now and pick a good calendar out, not to mention looking through the photos section of the forum or the weekly "contest" thread.
all that to say... maybe you should just submit a picture of your modded manix. the rules say you can, so why not? you never know what they'll be looking for.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Postimages seems to have changed. Now I can't seem to use it to post pics anymore, at least without having to to some extra step that I don't know if it'll cost anything. I'm hesitant to take that extra step just to post a bad pic of my stuff. It used to be super easy to do.
None of the pics I take would ever be photo contest-worthy anyway, not that it's ever mattered to me.

More sweat testing of CruWear. May be going back to S110V later in the week, got some extra hot and damp days coming up.
