Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight Video "Reveal"
Re: Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight Video "Reveal"
The loyalty of this company and this man to their strategic partners is something to learn from.

Thx Sal, i think i understand it all now, I do regret things did not worked out as planned and i guess it harmed spyderco more then it helpt the end line user. But i am afraid in this case there is nothing spyderco can do more then its already doing. I did not know adola changed owners twice. Hopefully the current owner keeps on going further down to good path and everything stays in his hands for years to come. Change in management can make big problems sometimes.sal wrote: ↑Sun Jul 10, 2022 4:08 pmAdola has been our distributor in Netherlands for decades. They are an area exclusive and have our permission to use our name in their distribution. Adola covers Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. They've actually been through 2 owners since we began with them. Good distributors are also challenging to find. The current owner of Adola tries very hard to be good in all areas.
The "Centers" that we set up were Spyderco owned. We kept inventory to be able to ship to distributors faster and less expensively, but the costs were too high and training personnel to QC is harder than it appears. In the end, it did not lower costs to the ELU (End Line User). So you can see that we've been trying to get our products to be more affordable outside of the US. We've not found a path that works.

Thanx Apollo,
Change is constant and adjustment is always necessary. Russia and Ukraine were two of our biggest export customers. So change caused by wars is also a PITA.
In reality, maintaining an International manufacturing company is not an easy task and requires constant focus in many areas to survive and be successful. Gail, Eric and I have always had great respect for Multi-Generational International companies. Many of our strategic partners are also multi-generational and we've learned a great deal from them.

Sal i can believe the current situation is very much a pain. And since both those country’s are 2 big nations i can believe that it tankt the euro market partially for spyderco. As for the rest of Europe i am a bit scared to see the old knife habits that lasted for generations die out. Because i do not know if you are also seeing this in the US or not but young parents these days call even a victorinox a deadly weapon what is up with that?sal wrote: ↑Sun Jul 10, 2022 4:44 pmThanx Apollo,
